Bernanke

edit

Hi - I removed your addition with a question about its notability for Bernanke's biography, and you reverted without comment or response. That's not the best way to proceed here - it can be considered edit warring. I am going to post a question on Talk: Ben Bernanke about whether editors consider this notable, and it would be helpful if you'd engage in discussion about it there. Thanks. Tvoz/talk 22:20, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Struck out my initial comment - apparently I removed it at the same time as another editor did, so my edit summary didn't appear. Still, same point applies: reverting edits repeatedly is considered edit warring here. Tvoz/talk 23:04, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Also - you might want to take a look at WP:COI and see if it applies to your editing. Tvoz/talk 22:22, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

oops!

edit

Hi Tvoz, I am new to wiki editing and I did not realize my addition was being challenged as I was putting it up. I posted a few times over a few minutes because I was adjusting grammar and syntax. (I'd not yet discovered the Preview button) I consider this addition notable because as a pop-culture reference, it adds another dimension to the subject. The addition also implies there are other perspectives on the article's referent beyond the blandly congratulatory cv-like article presentation.Michelangeloh (talk) 22:54, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Does WP:COI apply to the edits you have been making about Mihaly? Nomoskedasticity (talk) 22:56, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Still waiting for an answer on this one. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 07:42, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi Nomoskedasticity! Please pardon my delay in addressing your question. I am new to WP and still sorting out article, user, and discussion pages. I have created four WP articles so far and attempted to edit half a dozen others. I just noticed your question(s) and have not intentionally avoided the COI topic. I have just been reading about WP-COI, WP-N, WP-AGF, WP-creative. All these concepts and even the existence of this body of protocols is new to me. I intend to refrain from starting or making edits/additions to articles where there is a COI.Michelangeloh (talk) 03:36, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Additions of Robert Mihaly to articles

edit

I've reverted some additions you made of this artist to other articles, as he simply does not appear to be of sufficient stature and relevance to be included in them, e.g. The Birth of Venus (Botticelli) and Depleted uranium. If you think the inclusion is justified, please make the case on the article talk page. I suggest this procedure for any anticipated inclusions in other articles also. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Visual_arts#Re:_Robert_Mihaly. Ty 23:02, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Shelton Vineyards

edit

A tag has been placed on Shelton Vineyards requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 16:16, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD on Robert Mihaly

edit

Please feel free to comment on the AfD on this article - here [[1]]. Please note, this is not a straight vote for deletion of the article but a place where people can discuss whether or not they feel the article should stay or go. (My own feeling is that it should go but if consensus is that it should stay I'm happy with that too!). Setwisohi (talk) 19:21, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

File:Sheltonvineyards.jpg missing description details

edit
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 10:08, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Sheltonvineyards.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sheltonvineyards.jpg, which you've attributed to Shelton Vineyards. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:01, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
