File permission problem with File:Resnick, Wright and Henken.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Resnick, Wright and Henken.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 00:49, 25 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Deletion pending for File:Entry to breeze way.jpeg edit

Hello, Michaelphmccarty. Some time ago, a file you uploaded — File:Entry to breeze way.jpeg — was tagged with {{OTRS pending}}, indicating that you (or perhaps the copyright holder if you did not create this image) submitted a statement of permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Though there is often a backlog processing messages received at this address, we should have received your message by now.

  • If you have not submitted (or forwarded) a statement of permission, please send it immediately to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.
  • If you have already sent this message, it is possible that there was a problem receiving it. Please re-send it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.

If we don't hear from you within one week, the file will be deleted. If we can help you, please feel free to ask at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 14:39, 14 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Resnick wright and henken.jpg edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Resnick wright and henken.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:00, 3 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have added File:Resnick and wright.jpg, File:Resnick wright and henken.jpg, File:Floor plan.jpg, and File:Calabi house.jpg to the same deletion nomination. The copyrights on the photos belong to the original photographer(s), the copyright on the floor plan belongs to the Resnick estate. Your scanning them does not remove their copyrights. —teb728 t c 07:06, 3 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Return of images to Arron Resnick edit

Hi Michael. I have reverted your return of copyright infringing images to display in the article. The only reason the one was left on display is because I have made a claim under fair use, reduced its size, added a fair use rationale, and so forth, so that it is okay to use here under copyright (as discussed at the deletion discussion). It alone, among the others, is okay for display.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:10, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

(talk page watcher)Hi Michaelphmccarty. I see you have re-uploaded the files that Fuhghettaboutit has referred to above as File:Resnick, Wright and Henken.jpg, File:Calabi-Picker House.jpg, File:Resnick Floor Plan.jpg and File:A Resnick and Wright.jpg and then tagged them with {{OTRS pending}}. It may take some time for OTRS to check the licensing and verify the permissions emails that you sent. I think the files should be OK to re-add to the article while OTRS is being verified, but maybe you should wait to see what Fuhghettabout it says first just in case. Please understand, however, that the files will likely be deleted if OTRS determines that there is something wrong with the permissions emails.
Two quick things about what you did: (1) I don't think you should've re-uploaded the files; rather it would have been probably better for you to simply edit the already existing files accordingly. Now, there are multiple versions of basically the same files (File:Floor plan.jpg, File:Calabi house.jpg and File:Resnick and wright.jpg) uploaded under slightly different currently existing on Wikipedia. For reference, even deleted files like File:Resnick wright and henken.jpg are not really gone forever; they are just hidden from view and can be easily restored by an administrator if proper permission/licensing is provided at a later date. (2) For future reference, you probably should upload freely licensed files (or files for which you are sending in permissions emails for) directly to Wikimedia Commons. You can follow the instructions at c:COM:OTRS#Licensing images: when do I contact OTRS? in such cases. I would not do that now since that would make three versions of the same files floating around on Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons. I understand you be anxious to add these files, but I would suggest slowing down a bit before uploading anymore and asking for help at WP:MCQ to avoid any possible problems. Image licesning, as you're finding out, can be tricky so sometimes it actually helps save time and effort by asking for advice from experienced editors first. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:30, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

File:Resnick and Wright.jpg edit

Hi Michaelphmccarty. I am not sure why you've reuploaded this file once again. As I posted in the above thread, even deleted files like File:Resnick wright and henken.jpg are not really gone forever; they are just hidden from view and can be easily restored by an administrator if proper permission/licensing is provided at a later date. Re-uploading essentially the same file might create unanticipated problems and it would have just been better to not do so as advised above. There are now three versions of the same file uploaded to Wikipedia/Commons: File:Aaron Resnick and Wright.jpg, File:Resnick and Wright.jpg and File:Resnick and wright.jpg under slightly different names, when only one is really needed. The file on Commons has been tagged with "OTRS pending" and is waiting verification from an OTRS volunteer. It may take some time for it to be verified because there tends to be a bit of a backlog, but eventually someone will get to it. Even if the file is deleted, it can always be restored after the fact once OTRS has verified it's licensing. So, please just be patient and refrain from uploading any more versions of the file; it doesn't speed up the process and just creates new issues that will need to be resolved. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:02, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Resnick House.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Resnick House.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 06:06, 24 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Henriette Simon Picker edit

Hello, Michaelphmccarty. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Henriette Simon Picker".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. 1989 (talk) 03:36, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Resnick Floor Plan.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Resnick Floor Plan.jpg.

Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
