Thanks for all your help edit

Thanks for all of your help with the firearm articles. I have followed your writing for years and you were probably one of the folks who inspired me to write. You may want to join our project: WP:GUN we would definitely appreciate your help.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 23:48, 16 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the kind words. I've noticed that some of the pictures end up fairly far afield on worthy projects by serious people - New York times, Daily Caller and I even had a movie production compahy make a courtesy request for a release for picture of minie bullets I had uploaded here. If any of the pictures I upload are usefull to you, I'm glad. I will stick to uploading pictures as I am going to avoid edit conflicts with Persons Unclear On The Concept. From your talk page, It appears that you have possibly a minutely greater measure of patience with such than I do.

Patience is definitely a virtue here. Sometimes it is a language/cultural barrier, which is irritating when you know the editor has probably never even so much as seen a real gun. Other times as editors of gun and knife pieces we run into antis. Either those with a political motive or those who think any language mentioning a corporate entity of some sort is advertising. I have seen the same with some of my photos on here showing up at NYT, USA Today, etc. Thanks again for the help, I think I have actually used quite a few of your articles as references on here as well.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 00:12, 17 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Right. I had a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Croissants get offended by something I placed about tannerite- or a dead pig and he stalked me all over the 'pedia deleting stuff. Also some very rude video gamesters who were most adept at pumping hydrogen sulphide and methane into their mother's sofa cushions.

I fought the law edit

I appreciate the clarification. First, no need to "beg forgiveness"; I'd just have moved it to the bottom of the page (the usual here, tho I understand that may change). Second, while the new owner has merit, you'd need to explain & cite it to have his pic on the page IMO. Finally, I'd far rather any demo pic be of a recognized gun writer, or an individual with nothing to gain (& so no potential conflict of interest). That said, if you feel strongly the pic should stay in, go ahead & make your case on the talk page, & we'll see what the community thinks. TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 15:12, 17 October 2013 (UTC) Interestingly,(or not) The individual is a celebrity law man in central texas. A picture of him shooting that same sub gun appeared in a Guns Magazine article on silencers a couple of years ago with his full approval. I attempted to change the caption to clarify the purpose of the picture but instead eliminated the text altogether and corrupted it. In any case, I am indifferent to the broader aspects of editing. Such pictures as I upload are a gift and may be used or not according to the wishes of more active participants. --Michael E. Cumpston (talk) 16:53, 17 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

March 2014 edit

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Colt Pocket Percussion Revolvers may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • mould.jpg|thumb|An Original Colt patent ball and bullet mould for the Colt Revolving Pocket Pistol (1849</gallery>

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 20:14, 20 March 2014 (UTC) My understanding of this message is that my edit of the referenced article in some manner, Offends. What I did was append the adderss of an uploaded picture in the GALLERY . The pictures are arrayed left to right with the one I added differeing in No Visible Wayfrom the other pictures in the gallery. What you, as a robod, might have detected were a couple of trial edits of the same section that I believe, were not saved and now are definatly not part of the article. Nevetheless, if there is something unorthodox about the picture of the Colt Patent Mold that offends the Wikipedian sense of right and wrong, be sure to reverse it.Reply

Ruger edit

Nice article in the latest issue of Guns, almost made me want to pick one up! :) --Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 18:06, 21 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ganglion cyst edit

Thanks for an interesting picture at Ganglion cyst (File:Ganglion cyst lanced.JPG). But it would be even more interesting to see followup - did the cyst recur, or did you have any other problems? If you could update the file description at Commons or upload a new image (if you have a cyst back again) it would be most welcome! Wnt (talk) 16:29, 2 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
