Wiki Project
editI will be doing my Wikipedia research project on Leila J. Rupp. She was an influential historian, professor and feminist of the 60's and 70's and her representation of the LGBTQ community in her work created widespread inspiration. She published several works including topics of women's rights as well as gay and lesbian rights. Her page is only a stub with a short paragraph and I believe I can add to that to make others more aware of her influence.
Response to Topic Ideas
editLeila Rupp is still living --- in general I would advise avoiding living subjects. However, if you want to concentrate on her contributions to the LGBTQ community, that might provide a good focus. Start by seeing what secondary sources are available. If you find sources, then you'll have material to add. Again, a caution -- with a living person, you'll need excellent and impartial secondary sources.
As an alternative, is there another LGBTQ advocate or theme that you could explore? You might look into the history of LGTBQ to find some possibilities. Edw04005 (talk) 23:47, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
New Wiki Project Topic
editI will be doing my Wikipedia project on Susanne Langer (1895-1985). Langer was an American philosopher and professor who is known to have been the first woman to gain an academic career in philosophy. Her studies focused mainly on art and aesthetics as well as mind and language. She wrote several works that brought new meaning to the connections between art and the mind.
There was a major problem in the article, but it was not your fault. You used Visual Editor to copy your sandbox material into the article. Visual Editor barfed all over the references. I reverted your changes and then re-copied you sandbox material. You might want to check to see everything is ok on your end. Bgwhite (talk) 08:06, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
