wikiversity Fire edit

I'd be glad to help. Honestly, I'm kind of astounded that i'm such a prominent figure in the fire portal. To be honest, I'm only a Fire II, and am almost done with rescue tech training (I'm 4th on the squad, one more course for minimum manning, most of the material for which I've covered in-station). I've been involved with Fire/EMS for 4 years now, but I'm not sure how qualified I am for a wikibook/course. I have some experience training others informally in my school's emergency response club, so maybe I'm not giving myself enough credit. I'll be glad to help as I can though.

Word of advice: add a taskboard to the project. Since it is a fledgingling project, you might try modeling its development after a good wikiproject, for instance Wikipedia:WikiProject_Philosophy. Shaggorama 03:29, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:History of the fire service worldwide edit

I believe it's possible to draw more contributors from WP:Fire Service. I'll join the firewiki soon to see what to fulfil further. Previously I was unaware of it :) --Brand спойт 13:06, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually I'm able to help with anything not related to modern technicality since I'm not a professional firefighter. History, voluntary fire brigades and firefighting in culture may be particularly interesting. --Brandспойт 20:49, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: "internationalisation" edit

I would like to continue editing existing articles where there is a particular geographical (US, usually as there doesn't seem to be many other users) bias. I have some knowledge of the situation in Ireland and don't mind helping out here and there where some additions are required. User6344 (talk) 15:18, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fire Service Portal Question edit

I wanted to know if the Fire Service and Fire Portals are still being maintained and updated? I would like to integrate them with some of my online fire classes, but didn't want to if they are out of date. As well, I have some ideas for expanding their usage, but again... its if they are being regularly kept up. Let me know. Thanks. Mfinney (talk) 18:16, 25 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

You are more than welcome to make any changes or expansion you like. I've not had the time for it like I used to so I'd happily pass it off to someone who can do something with it. --Daysleeper47 (talk) 21:21, 25 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
