Did you Notice...

That the edit right before yours was an add of the thanks to Nicoll about Missile Gap? It and the Family Trade thanks don't really belong in the lead, anyways. --Thespian 03:26, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

James has been a friend of mine since I was 14, though we're not close now; I've been meaning to do a bit of a cleanup on the notability issue for a while; I have some old clippings and such from when I was a teenager and the gaming community in Kitchener got any sort of attention. There are also some stats around dealing with the excessive amounts of sales early Hero system releases had in Kitchener (about 150% their sales elsewhere) in which James is directly given credit. Its all in boxes right now, but after I move, I'll have it all at my fingertips again.
Btw, if you're geeky and in Boston, as I see, I'm Stephanie, the natural redhead who works at Pandemonium. --Thespian 03:41, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Ultimate Fighter episode guide

edit

Thanks for not blindly reverting. Here's my rationale.. the episode guides get undue weight (they're basically 80% of the article) and I don't believe that they would live as seperate episode articles. I kept the Ultimate Finale in there, because it's well established that THEY are notable, however the fights in the Ultimate Fighter show itself are not notable per se, since they are not officially sanctioned (they are considered exhibition bouts, they are not added to a fighter's record, etcetera). Perhaps just a listing of who fought whom, in chronological order would be ok? SirFozzie 01:05, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Archiving talk

edit

All I am asking you to do is archeive you old comments. Some editors may think you do not care about there comments because you are removing them without putting them somewhere else, but I am not offended. Have a nice week. --James, La gloria è a dio 17:08, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I changed my thinking on keeping a clean talk page after this little exchange. Before, my philosophy was that these were messages sent to me; after, I realized they were a part of the greater encyclopedia community. However, it didn't make sense to try to merge back in past history, so I left it at this point. -- Metahacker 01:51, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Binary prefix anonymous edits

edit

Hello MetaHacker. I seem to remember you locking horns with User:Sarenne in the past before the user was banned so I thought I was write to give you a warning. A couple of us who have had dealings with this user have been attacked by anonymous IPs with a modus operandi very similar to Sarenne. As you can see Special:Contributions/217.87.98.171 & Special:Contributions/217.87.99.127 has started editing some articles (the same ones Sarenne was interested in before) adding back binary prefixes while using a familiar edit and comment style to that used by Sarenne. The same IPs have been used to add untrue comments to my talk page and User talk:Wgungfu that make references to old history of the previous binary prefix shenanigans which makes me lean even more to it being Sarenne coming back. So far the IPs are all from the same ISP block and I seem to remember Sarenne also used that German ISP. I've let one of the old admins who dealt with Sarenne know ( User:Centrx ) just in case there is going to be a concerted edit war effort from "anonymous" IPs again. Fnagaton 00:27, 1 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

For the umpteenth time, I'm not Sarenne and have nothing to do with that user. I'll tell you a little secret though: SI units have been a standard for decades in Europe, well except maybe the UK, Germany is by incident in Europe. Thus, Europeans are very well aware of the meanings of the prefixes kilo, mega and giga. As far as I know, kilomiles, kiloyards, kilofeet or kilolibs do not exist. Thus, US-Americans are far less familiar with their meanings unless they are scientists. Just so you know, why some people care more about this issue than others. Oh and by the way, this ISP is the most popular in Germany, so it means absolutely nothing. --217.87.98.171 01:38, 1 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
You behave like the banned user Sarenne and you direct your personal attacks to the editors who reported Sarenne for using sockpuppets. Also you wrote "You're not going to ban me this way because it's child's play to circumvent such a silly ban" which gives a good indication why you are remaining "anonymous" while IP hopping. Binary prefixes

edit

We all know that binary prefixes are not common so please keep your useless comment to yourself and read WT:MOSNUM. Thanks. Sarenne 22:28, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

"I beg you to stop your one-man attempt to convert wikipedia; spend that energy producing articles with rich, insightful content, from whatever IP you wish to."

Are you implying that Sarenne is continuing the disruption from IP accounts? If so, can you list some examples of such edits? — Omegatron 14:07, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
No proof but the recent behavior on Atari ST resembles the modus operandus Sarenne has employed in the past. -- Metahacker 17:17, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
