Username edit

Hello MercolaOverMerck, thanks for your contributions to the NAFLD page. I'm just dropping a note to express my concern over your username. Regardless of whether you are on the side of Joe Mercola or Merck, it contains the name of a company and a high-profile person, which are both discouraged by WP:USERNAME, one of our official policies. I would also strongly discourage the (probably) sarcastic placement of a company logo on your userpage. Again, some may take this as a cue that you are editing from a pro- or anti-pharma perspective, rather than WP:NPOV. I'm assuming that you are acting in good faith. I notice you've removed the logo. Could you address my questions on your username, and remove any doubt as to a possible conflict of interest or declarable bias? Again, I am not questioning your motives in any form. JFW | T@lk 21:01, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Wasn't sure if a reply was necessary... But since you asked for an official declaration, I can state that I am and will continue to edit following all of wp's policies regarding pov. Maybe the username wasn't the best choice, and if there was a way to change it without purging the hx, I would do that. Know of a way? I have also changed my signature... Thanks for the input! --MOM♫ (talk) 21:10, 4 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
