Repost of Andante, Andante (Abba's song)

edit

A tag has been placed on Andante, Andante (Abba's song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Riff Raff (AC/DC song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Young (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

My mistake! Thanki you for pointing that out. I will fix it right away. --Mer RZ (talk) 17:14, 31 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Walk All Over You

edit

I recommend you read WP:NSONGS before creating any more song articles such as Walk All Over You (AC/DC song). You need to show how the song is notable by providing citations to multiple reliable third-party sources. Not every song deserves its own articles. Also, since Walk All Over You is already a redirect, if you want to expand it to an article, you should have used that title and not make an entirely new one. Thanks. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 20:46, 31 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Why do you think redirect the name of the song to the album is better? I guess it's worst because there's not specific information about it there. Better to leave the text without any links. Btw, thanks for being behind by back. It's nice to learn sth everyday. --Mer RZ (talk) 20:04, 1 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
There was no meaningful content in the article you created for "Walk All Over You" anyway. It completely fails notablity requirements. How is "This song is not as popular as "Highway to Hell" or "Back in Black", but it has its audience" helpful to any reader. How is notifying you that you shouldn't create articles for non-notable songs behind the back? --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 21:20, 2 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
And who said I'm complaining? I guess you missunderstood my words. Thanks anyway. I will read the article you sent me and be more careful about the articles I created. By the way, why is it better to link a song into the album instead of leaving it without a link? Don't worry, I'll ask or read and figure out. --Mer RZ (talk) 15:58, 3 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
It has to redirect somewhere or else it should be deleted. Songs are written for specific albums - where else should the redirect go, in particular for non-notable songs that wouldn't have any other info anywhere anyway except in the track listing for that album. I apologize if I misconstrued your words of doing something "behind your back" as if you thought I was doing something underhanded against you. Thanks and happy editing. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 16:50, 3 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

List of songs recorded by A-Teens

edit

I re-formatted the table you created for List of songs recorded by A-Teens. The color was a bit much, so I removed that. I added an anchor to the first song listed for each letter so you can link to it from the contents. I uncapitalized words that are unnecessary to capitalize in a title (eg. "Have a Little Faith in Me" not "Have A Little Faith In Me"). I linked every instance of the albums per WP:OVERLINK, "if helpful for readers, links may be repeated in...tables." You wouldn't need to link A-Teens everytime but maybe the writers. Anyway, I think it looks better without re-doing everything you did. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 09:22, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a lot for your help! My idea was to make a table similar to the article "List of songs recorded by Adele", but I didn't think it was going to be soooo hard. I really needed a hand. Thank you. I hope you don't mind if I write you again in case I need something else. Your tips are very helpful. Have a nice day! --Mer RZ (talk) 18:25, 23 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
You seemed appreciative when I helped fix the A-Teens list but now you don't seem to like that I am now doing the same thing to some of these other lists. You have to realize they look better without all the distracting colors. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 03:48, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
I do remember you helping me with some editing, but this time is just a color shadow. Is this not using colors a rule or something? 'cause it could be distracting for some people, but not the same for other. I even think it could be more easy to read and likeable. Well I'm still learning, so it's better to ask. I do appreciate your answer. Thanks in advance. --Mer RZ (talk) 03:55, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
I guess there's no standard rule, but you said look at all the others but most of them are pretty basic. Some that do have colors use them consistently throughout the entire table, not just one column. Others that you use different colors do so with a reason with a key at the top of the list indicating what it means. Like the AC/DC one is OK, because it uses color specifically to distinguish which songs were released as singles, so there's a reason for it. So if you want to use the light yellow color, make the whole thing that color. Thanks. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 04:08, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
You said it yourself: It's not a rule, so why changing it without asking what's the purpose first, or contacting the person who wrote the article to make the necessary changes? That's more polite. Don't you think? You have to realize that even the smallest article here, in Wiki, demands time, research, and effort. It's not nice to make changes that are not specified as a rule, and that does not bother anyone. However, I will take your advice and make the necessary changes to all my articles for keeping it simpler. Thank you! --Mer RZ (talk) 04:27, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
