About Sharks

edit

Sharks have been on earth for more than 2 million years and they are still here today. They prey are seals, dolphins, small whales and every now and then humans. Sharks often mistake humans for seals so thats why every now and then there are shark attacks. Some sharks are going extinct and some are. The largest shark in the world, the Megaladon species, went extinct over 1 million years ago because all the water in the ocean got shallower and shallower until it could not swim and survive in the shallow water. But today they can come back because when the iceburgs and glaciers melt, it adds more and more water to the ocean and it makes the water more deeper. Great Whites are known as one of the most dangorous sharks in the world because today they are the biggest sharks in the world that are not extinct. Some people think the Great Whites are going extinct because the population is getting lower and lower from people hunting them for food and their skin and teeth. Mako sharks however are the fastest sharks. They are small but they can rip you apart. Since they are aggresive feeders the catch their prey by swimming as fast as they can then attack for the feed. Hammer Head sharks have the hammer shaped heads to capture sting rays so they kill and eat them.
