  Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Walter L. Schindler. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 16:59, 21 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Walter L. Schindler

edit

The article Walter L. Schindler has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. 331dot (talk) 18:00, 21 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Walter L. Schindler. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Walter L. Schindler, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:02, 22 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Change Name

edit

Hi I'm quite confused as to how to change the name on this account. It appears here that the name is under Walter L. Schindler. Actually I'm not him I just created a article for him. Is there any way I can change the name on the account to avoid COI?

Hi, you can change your user name really easily by completing this form. Also, when you leave a message on a talk page (like you just did above), please 'sign' it by adding four tildes (this symbol: ~) at the end. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 10:03, 22 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
