  Hello. I noticed that you recently made a contribution to the Julia Flynn Siler article that seemed to be a test. Your test worked! However, test edits on live articles disrupt Wikipedia and may confuse readers. If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, MelissBelle. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Julia Flynn Siler, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 18:11, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Help request

MelissBelle (talk) 22:15, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

I am a new user and I just disclosed that I was paid a small honorarium to help the subject (a friend of a friend-we have never met in person and had no prior relationship). I am wondering how/when the flag will be removed from my article? Not the flag about the links..that one I am still unclear as to how exactly to rectify it, but the other one.

MelissBelle (talk) 22:22, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

As I said via IRC, the article's tone currently is rather promotional. Thus the "conflict of interest" tag seems relevant; an uninvolved editor should check the content and fix what needs fixing. Until that has happened and someone other than you feels that the tag is no longer necessary, it should stay in place. Huon (talk) 22:31, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Would love some help!

edit

I am a new user and would love help with the tone of this article. I would like to have the flags removed here but I am realizing I should not be the one making the edits. My objective here is to inform in the most integral, unbiased way possible, and it seems any future edits to this article should not be made by me. I would be so grateful for any help.

Thank you.
