Hello. I have received your message, and the reason the Record at TCA's portion of the One Direction article was removed was because it is deemed unnecessary. It is formally mentioned in the Awards and nominations that One Direction have won all the 19 nominees for the TCA (Teen Choice Awards). Furthermore, this portion of the article should be placed in the List of awards and nominations received by One Direction article, which I believe already exists.

Since you caught this removal, I ask that you consider this and that you should do the removal of the portion of the article with reasoning.

Scentre Group and Westfield

Hi Melbourne Star,

Westfield is still the name of the shopping centres in Australia and New Zealand, however, they are all under the management of Scentre Group, since Westfield Group was turned into two separate companies in June of 2014. You can get more information about it here: . Also, please note I'm only updating the company name not the name of the actual centres. I hope that helps to clear things up a bit.

Thank you for responding to my message regarding this. The main issue is in regards to naming.

You've created an article, Scentre Group - listing shopping centres in Australia, still under the title of Westfield. They are still a Westfield centre, only that they are operated by another group. Furthermore, the Westfield Group may be defunct - but it shouldn't be renamed soley to Westfield Corp. as the WG has some 50 years of history, shopping centres in Australia are still Westfield centres.

Thanks for clarifying. I will make the title clearer for that page. According to the restructuring information, Westfield Corporation is handling the Westfield Centers in the US and England, while the centres in Australia and New Zealand fall under the new Scentre Group company. Does that make sense?

I understand what you mean, but it's difficult to make that distinction. The only alternative I see is retaining the current "Westfield Group" article - but splitting it in sections; ie:

• → Article: Westfield Group (or) Westfield (Retail): Shopping centres under the label of "Westfield" (as well as the history of the original company etc. And the mentioning of the new companies.
  • → Section: Westfield Corporation: Handling Westfield centres in the US/UK
  • → Section: Scentre Group: Handling Westfield centres in Aus/NZ

There's been a comment made on the Talk page of Westfield Group that mentions the new entities. It looks like it would make sense to have the two separate pages Westfield Corporation and Scentre Group and a note at the top of the Westfield Group page about the change mentioned on the Talk page. With that in mind could you undo the redirect on the Scentre Group page?

Are you anti-Semitic?

I think you'll remember the removal you made of my edit to Alex Linder's page. Look, say what you want about the need for accurate media. I don't give a damn. Linder is a standing example of our fruitless efforts to stamp out racism, prejudice and Antisemitism. Hatred has been allowed to exist for years without anybody actively doing anything to stop it. Sure, here and there you'll find a non-profit organization that claims to rally people to stop hate, but it doesn't do anything. We as a society not only allow for hatred to exist, but we condemn anybody who steps up and says, outloud, "Hey, anti-Semitic guy! You're an asshole!" Well, that's hardly working, isn't it? What I did is an example of what we have to start doing. We have to look hate in the face and spit in its eye, and we have to do it in public where everybody can see. We lost the figure telling us how bad hate was and how detrimental it is to our society- it's that loss of guidance that gave us Alex Linder. Amendment to Def Leppard page

Hello, I recently made an amendment to the Def Leppard page to update some inaccurate information. The page said that the band performed at the 2012 Rock Fest festival, when in fact they didn't due to the death of singer Joe Elliot's father, a fact which was even reported on the Rock Fest Wikipedia page. When I updated this information, you immediately changed it back. This is incorrect. The correct facts and source is quoted on the Rock Fest page.

I've removed the whole reference to the performance - as well as the mention of his father. The source regarding the performance was created prior to the performance, and there is no source to corroborate his father's death and its relation to the performance. The main issue with your edits to the Wimp article, is that this article is actually a Disambiguation page (a page which lists other pages similarly associated with the title). Your additions to the page, added content which does not belong on the disambiguation page, but rather within an actual article, ie. "Wimp (band)"

Additionally, your additions to the article were unsourced – content where no reliable sources are cited. Such sources include newspaper articles, books, etc. which must be used to verify the content.

Your removal of said maintenance templates is fine. I would only ask that you use an edit summary (as you did in your latest edit to said article) to inform others what content you're removing and why.

Additionally, I've had a look at the article and one significant improvement would be the formatting of the references cited in the article. Currently, they are incorrectly presented as external links (rather as proper citations) within the content of the article. Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews

Hello MelbourneStar. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

Julia Bishop - alma mater

Hello,

I have indeed modified Julia Bishop's wikipedia page for the following reasons. While she may have followed a 8 weeks intensive course at the Harvard Business School, it would be improper to state that it is her alma mater. An alma mater in latin means "nourishing mother" and refers to a school one has in fact graduated from. It would be misleading to say that Julia Bishop is a Harvard alumni as she has neither received her undergraduate degree nor her graduate degrees from this school.

While also it is perhaps true that she may indeed have decided to enter the field of politics following her attendance at this intensive programme, it is unclear as to whether this information is relevant on a wikipedia page. Indeed, this statement is biased in nature and tends to portray the person in a non-neutral manner. It is also logically unlikely that her experience at the school has been in fact the main trigger behind her decision to become a politician. Yet, It does draw a disproportionate amount of attention to a short period of time spent at a prestigious institution. The fact that she has indeed claimed that it has been an important episode in her life is not sufficient in itself to justify that her time at Harvard should be given more attention than her time at the University of Adelaide, her actual alma mater, where she has spent most of her time as a law student.

I hope that my explanations are sufficiently exhaustive and satisfactory.

However, in relations to her career move inspiration – that should not be removed, as she recognises the course as her inspiration for a career move.
