Copyrighted contributions

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Melissa Burke article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribute Share-Alike."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page. Gurt Posh (talk) 14:12, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Upload of File:AmyPondSeries6.jpg

edit

Hi there. I noticed you uploaded File:AmyPondSeries6.jpg and replaced the main image in the article Amy Pond with it. I wanted to inform you that I reverted your change since it violates Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria#1, which states that copyrighted files are not allowed if a free equivalent exists - in this case File:Amy Pond.jpg. Although this image is from series 5, Amy's appearance did not really change between series 5 and series 6, so a replacement was not necessary. If you want to argue otherwise, you are invited to discuss this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who#Amy and Rory photos. Also, I disagree with your change to Rory's image and suggested a change at the aforementioned page. You are invited to comment about this as well. Regards SoWhy 17:34, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hollyoaks

edit

Hey there. I've reverted your edits to Will and Dodger Savage from Hollyoaks. There was not enough real world info to justify splitting from the list. Please find more sources and discuss at WP:HO before carrying out such edits. Please could you also refrain from uploading promotional image when a screenshot is in use. There is a fair use rationale on the file page, when you upload a new one (which is not needed) - you do not update and tag the rationale and terms of use correctly.RaintheOne BAM 13:15, 23 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (MelHart94) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it represents a recognizable, living person, Melissa Joan Hart. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account to use for editing. Thank you. Elizium23 (talk) 17:23, 23 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:DodgerSavage.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:DodgerSavage.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 06:06, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Pilot (Two & A Half Men)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Pilot (Two & A Half Men). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Pilot (Two and a Half Men). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Pilot (Two and a Half Men) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Cind.amuse (Cindy) 12:52, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

No sources = no section. Don't be lazy and add sources. What part of "add sources" confuses you so much.RaintheOne BAM 23:54, 8 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to assume good faith on another bunch of edits you have made. This time to Seth Costello - You added development info - but you have not cited your sources. Please reply, you just need a little help. If you don't and your unsourced edits remain unexplained - I'll have to revert on the principal you shouldn't add unsourced text..RaintheOne BAM 00:04, 9 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to [[:Ruby Button]], did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Fair use rationale for File:AsssBurger.png

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:AsssBurger.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? feydey (talk) 15:01, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Imogen Hollins.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Imogen Hollins.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
