Speedy deletion nomination of Devils Rejects (Band)

edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Devils Rejects (Band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --SquidSK (1MClog) 14:58, 11 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, and don't worry, it will soon be deleted by an administrator. Before you create an article, I highly recommend that you review the information above, especially how to create your first article. Also, whenever you leave a comment on someone's talk page, or on an article's talk/discussion page, be sure you put four tildes (~~~~) after your comments. That will sign your name and time-stamp your comments. Do you understand why your article is being deleted? Wikipedians have decided upon criteria for what makes a band notable enough to justify having a page in this encyclopedia. These include things such as national radio play, gold or platinum records, or signifcant coverage in national media sources. Again, welcome, and we look forward to your contributions! --SquidSK (1MClog) 15:07, 11 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
A couple of other notes. If this is your band, you probably have a conflict of interest. You must be very careful when editing articles about yourself, or groups of which you are a memember. Also, is the band's name "Devils Rejects" or "Devil's Rejects?" --SquidSK (1MClog) 15:09, 11 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
No, I don't believe that your band currently meets Wikipedia's threshold for notability. Good luck! --SquidSK (1MClog) 15:23, 11 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:No one cares about your garage band. Regards. Sir Richardson (talk) 21:29, 15 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring

edit

You are editing against the wishes of several contributors. I understand that you want it added that Kurt Cobain was a drummer and a bassist. But you are not bringing evidence to the table to confirm as much. As a matter of fact I took the time to check and I cannot find any evidence of Cobain being a drummer. Now I am sure he beat on the drums more than a few times. But what songs did he perform as the drummer?? Please stop edit warring and find the proper references and then re-add your edit with the proper inline citations, OK? Regards - 4twenty42o (talk) 22:43, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Machinehead (song). Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. 猛禽22 21:43, 7 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
