Thanks for uploading Image:AUC_main_winter.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Hi your username has not directly been blocked, you are likely being blocked as the result of another users actions e.g. you are collateral damage. As the unblock template you placed says "User: If the block message says that your IP address is blocked or that your IP address was recently used by a blocked user, please paste the block message below.", without that detail we can't tell why you or blocked so can take no action to undo it. --pgk(talk) 16:35, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vote on Commons POTY

edit

Hello. Thank you for your interest in the 2006 Picture of the Year contest. To vote, you must be an established Wiki editor with at least 100 edits registered either on your Commons or on your home wiki account (eg on one of the Wikipedia sites). You don't have 100 edits on your Commons account, but if you do on your home wiki, please add a diff pointing to a statement on your home wiki talk page which confirms your identity. For example: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3ABryan_Tong_Minh&diff=103243817&oldid=100712171 diff] which appears as diff. You should add this diff on the same line as your vote, at Commons:Picture of the Year/2006/Voting phase 1. Thank you! If you have any questions, you can ask at Commons talk:Picture of the Year/2006.

You have not provided a proper diff, I'm afraid. Please ask if you need help. --MichaelMaggs 07:13, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I also gave a diff to my talk page (or at least thought I did). Could you kindly advise me how to do so properly so that I may do so without problem in the future? Thanks for your help. Feel free to use my edit page--thanks again! Measly pawn 15:26, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

No problem. If you could post a note to your talk page confirming that you, Measley Pawn, have voted on Commons POTY, I will fix it for you. --MichaelMaggs 19:18, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK, done. --MichaelMaggs 22:57, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Algomau logo.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Algomau logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:20, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Greyhounds1950.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Greyhounds1950.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:17, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Ursa Minor (album)

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Ursa Minor (album). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ursa Minor (album). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 27 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Sault Hockey Officials Association

edit

The article Sault Hockey Officials Association has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Sault Hockey Officials Associationnews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
