License tagging for Image:Bish.258756.full.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bish.258756.full.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Jcopefriedalbum.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Jcopefriedalbum.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:26, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Source for Boston/Altrincham switch

edit

Hi, I see you've changed various Conference related articles suggesting that Boston have been rejected from the Conference, and that Altrincham have been given a reprieve. I have checked the websites of Sky Sports, BBC Sport, Boston United, Altrincham FC and the Conference official page, and see no source for this suggestion. If you can provide one, feel free to change back, but as it stands I am reverting your edits. Cheers, HornetMike 19:19, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

A long-standing football editor just went round and made similar changes. I went through the above websites and see that there's now something on Boston's website. Apologies about the confusion - I believed that if anything had happened it'd be one of those websites, and at the time it wasn't. Cheers, HornetMike 23:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Pipettespromoshot.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Pipettespromoshot.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hey. I don't think Donaldson should be removed yet; I think his contract with York runs till July and I've nothing of him actually having joined Hibs yet. Purkiss is still in negotiations, and Bell, well, he can be removed, I just decided to keep him as I heard no official announcement on his departure. Mattythewhite 14:14, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've removed Bell from the squad. And for the 2007-08 season page; there isn't really much to put on it at the moment, but I'm hoping to get more prose and pics on it. Mattythewhite 11:15, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

YCFC Seasons

edit

I've had another little idea from Rangers with their seasons template - In my opinion there should be one made like that, or with the same layout used for the York City template. What do you think? Mattythewhite 09:36, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmm.. I'd personally have it in a new template just for the seasons - the main York City template would become crowded (just think how big it could be in theory, if all the seasons had an article made!). Also, having a template for just the seasons is more specific to navigate through the season articles. Mattythewhite 09:59, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stuart Elliott

edit

Aahh.. don't be so pesimistic! Admittedly, Elliott's no real replacement for Bishop, but I'm sure Billy's got something under his sleeve. And did you go to the Leeds match? Take any pics if you did? And on to Elliotts clubs - we need the year for the Dundee loan, can't seem to find it anywhere, Gateshead and Carlisle are mentioned and Scunthorpe and Kidderminster were only trials according to the NUFC site. But perhaps another thing worth a mention is "Stuart has also been employed in recent seasons as a youth coach at Newcastle Academy" from the NUFC article on him. Mattythewhite 22:07, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thats if Craddock even signs up for next season. Its been quite worrying really by the lack of contracts renewed so far.. but that Brown seems a good prospect. Hopefully he'll be signed up, despite the overflow in forwards. For his article, we'll need to get some resources. Not too easy getting info for Bradford fringe players.. License tagging for Image:Fortwilliamfc.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Fortwilliamfc.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Speedy deletion of Template:York City F.C./possible

edit

A tag has been placed on Template:York City F.C./possible requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

YCFC players and notability

edit

Hey, at the end of the day they don't meet the notability criteria set. Yes, they are full-time professionals but they don't play in a fully-pro league - I disagree with the notability terms set too. Many of my articles have been deleted as a result. To be honest, those youth players would hardly hardly notable anyway, they've only played a handful of times in the Conference for York and hardly set the world alight. To be fair the Brodie one is half-decent, but the others listed here are pretty pointless and don't add much insight into the person. Speedy deletion nomination of Carter Jonas

edit

A tag has been placed on Carter Jonas, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Thanks for uploading File:Isishilary2010.png.

Proposed deletion of Fear of Drowning

edit

The article Fear of Drowning has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
