Copyright/plagiarism

edit

Hi, I'm the content expert for your course. Recently I received a notification that you had posted content taken from another source to the article for corn tortillas. The source in question was What's Cooking America, although it looks like that site may have taken it from Grub Scouts of America. The content was taken almost word for word, which is seen as plagiarism and a copyright violation, as neither site publishes their work to the public domain or under a compatible creative commons license. Although you did list WCA as a source, this would still be seen as plagiarism since it comes across like you are putting the content out as your own work, even if this was not your intent. On Wikipedia it's a good idea to just write content in your own words, as most sites do not release their content under a license that would be compatible for Wikipedia.

Just in case, I would like you to review the Plagiarism and Copyright training module before proceeding further. Thanks. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 13:23, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
