Edits to Ivy League, and related edits edit

For your uncivil comments on my user page, I have reported you to the administration. --Xtreambar 00:54, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It appears you've had a hard time being civil with other users during your tenure here, especially with regards to your edits to the article on the Ivy League. I would strongly advise you review the policies and guidelines regarding civility, as well as WP:LEGAL. You should also review the policies regarding the three-revert rule, which you appear to be close to violating. Finally, in general, it is considered poor etiquette to remove messages from your talk page unless the messages violate Wikipedia policies. Please let me know if you have any questions about any of these policies. Truly, JDoorjam Talk 02:03, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
To be frank, I'm far, far more concerned with your incivility toward other Wikipedians, and with your representing yourself as having the authority to speak with legal authority on the behalf of the University of Pennsylvania, than I am with the founding date listed in the Ivy League article. If you would like a change made to the article, you should bring it up on the discussion page, rather than threatening and taunting other editors. As for the founding date, this encyclopedia is not beholden to what the University of Pennsylvania chooses to list in its official annals. The article currently lists 1740 and explains a relevant titular change that occurred in 1749; that seems to be relevant enough to warrant listing, in my opinion. Again, if you'd like to sway that opinion, and the opinions of others in the Wikipedia community, I advise you do so by adding thought-out comments to the talk page of Ivy League. JDoorjam Talk 04:00, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I came by here to leave a pointer to the policies WP:3RR and WP:LEGAL, which you ought to read. Please don't engage in unconstructive edit warring; if you find other editors reverting your work, use the article's Talk page to discuss the changes you want to make. -- Rbellin|Talk 03:53, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please don't delete warnings added to your Talk page: this is considered vandalism. See the guidelines. -- Rbellin|Talk 04:02, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked for 24 hours from editing Wikipedia for violating the three-revert rule, which you've been warned about three times now. I would strongly advise that, before returing to edit, you familiarize yourself with Wikipedia policies, and grasp that there are far better ways of building this encyclopedia than attacking others, ignoring and deleting messages, and getting into reversion wars. I hope you come back ready to edit constructively when this block expires. JDoorjam Talk 04:04, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Baltzell.gif edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Baltzell.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 12:02, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Your recent comments at the University of Pennsylvania article edit

You seem to be having a hard time keeping Wikipedia's polices about civility and avoiding personal attacks in mind. I strongly suggest you review those policies before continuing to edit and comment on the project. Further violations will result in your account being temporarily blocked for policy violation and disruption. Truly, JDoorjam Talk 17:58, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

  1. Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Image copyright problem with Image:Rescorla.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rescorla.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Penn2.jpeg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
