Proposed deletion of Eno the Emu

2019 US Banknote Contest

edit
  US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Wilburn Ferguson moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Wilburn Ferguson, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:37, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

My comment below was supposed to be a reply, sorry. Mcavoybickford (talk) 22:50, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is simply wrong, and is the second time that this particular user has made misleading claims about articles that I have created. It has 9 sources, of which one is probably a primary source. Because I have a lot of citations from one particular source, I looked in to that source's reliability and independence: it's an edited outlet that uses fact-checkers and I could find that a particular person had fact-checked that story. I don't see how the fact that a family member of the author was once a neighbour of Ferguson makes it not an independent source. A single one of the sources is a primary source (and another one is a commentary on a primary source), but it isn't counting towards GNG. This still leaves 6 reliable, independent sources (not counting Popular Mechanics as necessarily reliable). Sources 1, 5, 7, 8, and 9 are all clearly significant coverage per WP:GNG, if that's what you mean by "in-depth."Mcavoybickford (talk) 22:39, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Costa (Pante Macassar) moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Costa (Pante Macassar), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe.
