Welcome! edit

Hello, McShilly VonShillington, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Jill Kelley, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms our use and policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 19:43, 18 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

October 2018 edit

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Jill Kelley, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 21:13, 12 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Jill Kelley, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:McShilly VonShillington, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=McShilly VonShillington|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Your name was a hint that you might be a paid editor; your most recent edits, both in tone and content, made it pretty clear.C.Fred (talk) 19:44, 18 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

You still have not responded or taken action to the inquiry regarding your appearance as an undisclosed paid editor. If you make any additional edits without complying you may be blocked from editing. —C.Fred (talk) 23:46, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning if you make any further edits without responding to the inquiry you received regarding undisclosed paid editing. Your username and most recent edits give the overwhelming appearance that you are editing to promote the subject. You must disclose your connection and employer if you are paid to edit.C.Fred (talk) 19:56, 31 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

November 2018 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  —C.Fred (talk) 00:49, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I do not work for Jill Kelley, I am not paid by Jill Kelley. Nothing I posted to her page would "give the impression" that I do, you and your organization simply assume something and then demand information from me and went ahead and blocked me. Meanwhile wikipedia moderators allow people to consistently vandalize the page. I am simply adding two recent articles published by journalistic organizations to the page. I see nothing wrong with this, nor do I see a wikipedia policy violation. McShilly VonShillington (talk) 14:57, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

In reviewing your edits, I agree that they were promotional in nature. I don't know if you work for Jill Kelley or not, but I think that you have some sort of conflict of interest related to your edits. We will need to know what this is before we consider unblocking you. I am declining this request. 331dot (talk) 15:40, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You cannot remove declined unblock requests while you are blocked. Accounts cannot be deleted due to the structure of Wikipedia; if you no longer wish to be unblocked, simply stop using your account. 331dot (talk) 15:58, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
