August 2023 edit

On their own, your edits aren't necessarily vandalism but you're definitely not making changes that improve articles. Add to that the fact that you've been warned eight different times and not only are you still making changes that several editors have removed, you're here kinda/sorta issuing a threat. All this considered, there's a strong argument that yes, you are a vandal. If you don't stop what you're doing, you're going to get blocked whether or not you remove notes and warnings from this page. Explain why you're making these changes and how the website benefits from them at articles' talk pages instead. CityOfSilver 21:09, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please explain to me then, what you find to be so objectionable about my edits. McFilet O' Fish Fan (talk) 21:10, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
From the message I just typed out: "you're definitely not making changes that improve articles." That is to say, you're making lateral edits, or edits that don't make pages on here any better for readers. These are a problem because they clutter up and complicate articles' edit histories.
And sorry to pester but I have to ask: have you ever edited this website under a different identity? CityOfSilver 21:14, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I am providing descriptions which enhance the reader’s understanding of the subject. I would say that’s an improvement. And no, I haven’t. McFilet O' Fish Fan (talk) 21:23, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Several editors have disagreed so you need to take your case to articles' talk pages because whether or not you think it's fair, you're really in danger of getting blocked. I'm impressed at your acumen because even the best, longest-tenured people here wouldn't have been savvy enough to do this as their literal first edit. CityOfSilver 21:31, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
To do what? Vote on an AfD discussion that literally anyone can easily find by navigating Wikipedia from the community portal? Give me a break. McFilet O' Fish Fan (talk) 21:47, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for disruptively rejecting community input.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:47, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi @ToBeFree: Can you please explain why you blocked me after I ceased editing articles and was engaging in a discussion about the issues on my talk page? Given the fact that I had not edited in article in almost 40 minutes preceding my block and was in the midst of communicating with others about their concerns, I am very curious for an explanation as to how an indefinite block is needed to prevent disruption. Thanks! McFilet O' Fish Fan (talk) 21:58, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Huh… looks like even the person who reported me didn’t think it was necessary to block. McFilet O' Fish Fan (talk) 22:31, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm just an editor. It's up to admins what, if any, action they take. If I felt it didn't need an eye on it I would have deleted it myself. That was also before you doubled down. That's the extent of my input. Thanks, Knitsey (talk) 22:53, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
“Just an editor”? Adminship is “no big deal”.
But yeah, you’re basically right. Admins are better and more important than everyone else, and they have the final say. They need it that way on Wikipedia because outside of Wikipedia in the rest of their lives, they are powerless social rejects. McFilet O' Fish Fan (talk) 23:50, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi McFilet O' Fish Fan, you had previously "communicated" similarly twice, both times ending in you removing the discussion and continuing to do what others had complained about a few minutes later. I wasn't going to wait for this to repeat when I saw your IDHT approach a third time. Additionally, I'm relatively certain that you're a trolling sock, so I will not respond to further questions. If you disagree about the block, you know how to appeal it. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 04:45, 7 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
