Conflict of interest edit

Your recent edits creating hydrosal gel and adding it to the hyperhidrosis article point towards you being related to the product. Is it true? If so you should read WP:COI where it is explained how Conflicts of interest are dealt with, and I would recommend that you disclose it here. Moreover I do not think the specific mention to a brand name product is needed at the hyperhidrosis article, so until you bring a secondary source indicating its notability for the medical claims I am going to eliminate it. In this sense you would also benefit from reading WP:MEDRS, where the guidelines for adding medical sources is explained. Best regards.--Garrondo (talk) 13:33, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I am a customer of the product and contribute to various hyperhidrosis online communities and discussions. I am experienced with product information on various products of this nature. I do not believe that is grounds for conflict of interest. However, I understand the argument that the specific mention of a brand name may be unnecessary. Indicating general treatments without the use of brand names may be most effective, especially since there are many products on the market for this condition. However, I believe the line claiming that stronger concentration antiperspirants (beit Drysol, Hydrosal Gel, or Certain Dri) take 3-5 days to take effect is inaccurate as this obviously varies by product. Warm regards. Mbo92 (talk) 15:28, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Indeed that is not a COI, sorry then for the accusation. It is quite common these days for paid editors employed by companies to try to improve the coverage of their products in wikipedia, and that usually leads to non neutral edits.
Regarding your understanding of my elimination of the brand name is another sign of you not being a paid editor: sorry again.
Regarding your disagreement over an specific line: not sure what are you referring to.
General comment: the hyperhidrosis article is in a bit of bad shape, so you are more than welcome to improve it. We really need interested editors. However, please use high quality sources (See link to MEDRS above). Ideal sources would be reviews in peer-reviewed books or chapters in medical texts. If you have any doubts feel free to post here at my talk page or at the medicine project (WP:MED) and surely we will be able to give you a hand.
