In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. Hello Mbcreamer, I appreciate that the policies and conventions of Wikipedia can be confusing. Many people find that they conflict with their personal view of how things should be done. My concern is not what Robinson Secondary school considers notable. The issue here is what Wikipedia considers notable. The guidelines we have can be found via the link I provided above. The specific guideline for biographies is WP:BIO. Notice that the names in the Notable alumni list for the school are all blue links, that is they all link to a Wikipedia biography article about that person. The suggested approach is to first review the notability guidelines and consider whether Ivory Lee Young is notable based on Wikipedia criteria, not your personal feelings. If it appears they are Wikipedia notable then you can write an article about them. Atlanta media sources may be adequate. In general notability requires significant coverage by sources that are independent and reliable. Once a Wikipedia biography exists it's a simple process to add their name to the list of notable alumni of Robinson Secondary School. Their Wikipedia biography is an indication that they are notable and a reference showing they attended the school is needed if their biography doesn't have sourced content to establish that. If they don't appear to be Wikipedia notable then you or the school are still free to write about them elsewhere. I'm happy to help you with questions that come up.
