AfD nom for David Goffin

Hi, Mayumashu, I think something went wrong with your nomination; it is highly unusual to list the old AfD again in full text when re-nominating (It is linked by the usual templates anyway). I completed the process with a new AfD, see here, maybe you want to check. Thanks, Pgallert (talk) 12:38, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the help Mayumashu (talk) 14:50, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

ATP Challenger

Hey, it was done like this the whole last year and therefore. Kante4 (talk) 15:23, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

We now have clear criteria for tennis player WP notability, unlike when Challenger bracket pages were started. We will need to remove the red wikilinks for all non-notable players, to do things right Mayumashu (talk) 15:29, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Ok, good to know! Kante4 (talk) 19:07, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Ok Mayumashu (talk) 20:01, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Another one, Weintraub is ok you say but i thought we dismiss all redlinked players, doesn´t matter what they achieved... Kante4 (talk) 22:37, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Some users seem to be in favour having 'redlinks' and others against. (I don t think there is policy that forbids them.) Personally, I favour redlinks for someone who is or is likely WP Notable. Mayumashu (talk) 22:47, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I couldn't help participating in this discussion. In the Notability guidelines of wikipedia it states this "This guideline is used to help evaluate whether or not a sportsperson, sports league, or an amateur/professional sports league organization will meet the general notability guideline, and thus merit an article in Wikipedia". It doesn't say anything about the redlinks. So, today a tennis player is not notable and you don't add a link. But next year he gets in the top 100 and wins a major title. So you'll have to dig up every article to add links to his name? It's best to have redlinks and the "bluelinks" will appear during time than to have to correct every article back in time. That's my opinion.Saulopro (talk) 00:17, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Australian Open

Hey, i tried my best with redlinks and not. I looked if they played Davis Cup and if not i thought they have failed Notability... But thanks for your help. Kante4 (talk) 23:46, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

No prob - it's my area of interest. There are something like 6 different criteria for tennis playerr notability, as the policy stands. Look for tennis at/under WP:Notability (sports) for the list. Who do you think will win the men's Aussie Open, btw? (Too bad Nadal looks to be having health issues again.) Mayumashu (talk) 01:29, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah i will try my best to find out who gets linked and who does not and theny ou take over. ;) Personally, i hope for Federer as i don´t like Nadal and being a fan of Roger. I just hope one German gets into the 2nd week... What´s your thought? Kante4 (talk) 02:57, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
I d say not to worry too much about getting them all right - it s quite a bit of work. (I enjoy it though - I m interested to see how WP will be in the years ahead as deciding where to draw the line between notable and non-notable is contested.) Actually I prefer Fed too compared with Nadal. I root for the Canadians (always joyless) Milos Raonic could win a few rounds, assuming he qualifies. Philip Bester has been talented since a kid and his ranking rose well last year playing Futures - I m hoping he squeaks through qualifying. As for the biggies, I wonder if Wawrinka will maybe get to the semis. My guess is a Federer-Soderling final (assuming they are in different halves of the draw) with Soderling breaking through to win. Speedy deletion nomination of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jamie Baille

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mhiji 20:37, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Benjamin Mitchell

Hi. We should delete newly created article Benjamin Mitchell (tennis). User Egtj created this page again, at least you, LibStar and JayJ47 in debate of the proposed deletion decided to remove this article from Wikipedia database (The result was delete. Davewild (talk) 19:13, 9 January 2011 (UTC)). He still isn't encyclopedic and fails WP:Notability. I would like to do it, unfortunately... I don't know how. Could you help?
PL Alvarez Talk, 16:32, 15 January 2011 (UTC).

Hi. I don t know the most straightforward way but I ll just nominate it again and mention that it is a recreation of a recently deleted article Mayumashu (talk) 16:50, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
First one you deleted needs rescuing as he now passes notablity, playing in the main draw of the dubs at the AO :) KnowIG (talk) 11:26, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Guillermo Rivera-Aranguiz

You didn't do the AFD process properly. You ended up relisting the deletion discussion from December 20 instead of making a new one at "Guillermo Rivera-Aranguiz (2nd nomination)". I've tagged the article for speedy deletion since it's obviously a repost of deleted content. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 04:30, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

They do seem doable when they are recent recreations, but anyway - thanks for the help! Mayumashu (talk) 09:03, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Challenger

Hey, can you have a look at next´s weeks challengers? I tried a bit to see who is notable and who isn´t. Kante4 (talk) 15:12, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Okay. I should have the time and doing it is sort of my thing - no problem. Mayumashu (talk) 23:28, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. Kante4 (talk) 00:21, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Can you have a look at the Doubles and the other pages from this week? There were some changes and the doubles draws have been made... Kante4 (talk) 00:21, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

ITF Girls and Boys

hello,

I agree with you. All players winning a common Grade A tournaments and/or ranked in the top 10 deserves an article. Juniors should not be underrated; they are no recruts, just younger than the WTA women/men :)! We can create a discussion about that. What do you think? Regards.-- ♫Greatorangepumpkin♫ T 14:28, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I am all for it, just may not get around to it soon (would in the summer should it not be tackled by then). The place to do it would be the talk page of WP:Notability (sports), I think - as the talk page of WP:NTENNIS would not get much/enough traffic. Mayumashu (talk) 15:37, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
