Minsk Metro

I have created an overall style called MINSKMETRO, that could be used for any station, and also modified each line style by retaining the same unified corporate color and only changing the color of the border. I found that the previous style for each line created a page that is overwhelmed with one color. Heading, section, line, succession template and route diagram, are all the same; everything is either entirely red or blue. I also use an "M" icon in the "type" parameter that, according to available photographs, seems to be used in signs outside the stations. Let me know what you think. Saint Petersburg Metro

The article Baltiyskaya (Saint Petersburg Metro) that you recently created already exists as Baltiyskaya. The best way to fix the problem is to delete your new article and then move the old one, which preserves the history of the original. If you tag it for speedy deletion with {{db-author}} it will be very quickly removed and the move can be made. Thanks for the work you are doing on metro articles. I will help where I can. Hi, Maxim! Thanks for your work on the metro articles; much appreciated. I just wanted to point out that you seem to be preemptively disambiguating all such articles, even when the titles are not ambiguous. We normally only disambiguate the titles when they are truly ambiguous—i.e., when another article already exists or is redlinked on a disambig page. The existing metro articles are all only disambiguated when necessary—see, for example, Category:Moscow Metro stations.

That said, I also wanted to point out that we have a half-dead WikiProject dealing with the metro systems of the former Soviet Union. It can be found at WP:SOVMETRO—perhaps you would be interested in resuscitating it? Also, User:Artem Karimov is currently the editor most active in this subject area. Perhaps you two could connect and collaborate. He tried recruiting me in the past, but I'm just not that interested in this subject. I'm pretty sure he could use your help (or you his), though. The unnecessary disambiguators you are using will need to be cleaned up eventually, so you are just creating unnecessary maintenance work that can easily be avoided, since you are starting many of those articles from scratch anyway. Sorry, I didn't mean to rush you. What I meant by "unnecessary disambiguators" are the redundant parenthetical portions in the titles of the articles you are creating (e.g., Zayeltsovskaya (Novosibirsk Metro)). Since there is no article under Zayeltsovskaya or Zayeltsovsky, the metro station article title is not ambiguous, and does need to be disambiguated. A disambiguator is only needed when the title collides with the title of another article, although something like Didube (Tbilisi Metro) would also be fine (there is nothing under Didube, but a quick search reveals Didube Pantheon, meaning that "Didube" should be a disambiguation page. Yeah, I know what you mean about the information being scarce... it's good we have a passionate fellow like you to dig up whatever's available, eh? :) Seriously, once again, thank you for your work.

As for the links, the templates should allow piping links just fine, do they not? The Moscow Metro templates, for example, have been around for a long time, and the links can be piped no problem. There is some inconvenience in having to track which links are disambiguated and which are not, but that is not a major issue, and that is only an inconvenience to the editors. Avoiding unnecessary disambiguation, however, benefits the readers, which is the only thing that matters.

Speaking of conveniences, you might want to check out this script, which colors the links on the page according to the page type they lead to (so redirects would have one color, disambigs would be highlighted, stubs would have the colors of their own, etc.). It takes a little while to get used to, but once you do, it's hard to go back. I personally find this script invaluable for just the kind of jobs you are doing. Городская электричка это скорее suburban (city) train (Австралия) или rapid transit (USA), но никак не light rail, т.к. в данном случае используюся обычные железнодорожные пути, а не трамвайные, которые расчитаны на мешьшую нагрузку (откуда собственно и появился термин light rail).

Новое это хорошо забытое старое. Городская элекричка была в Киеве и 20 лет назад. Тогда это называлось Северным кольцом :-) --Maxim75 (talk) 10:29, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

I wanted to hunt for free CC images (panoramio etc.) in DR Congo, and your site was a fantastic tool to find pics off the beaten path. Central African articles should have more photos :-) See also the bias at Panoramio: http://geography.oii.ox.ac.uk/2014/02/a-worlds-panorama/ .

It's surprisingly difficult to find the panoramio pictures that have a compatible CC-licence for commons. And then to upload them, see commons:Commons:Requests_for_comment/Allow_transferring_files_from_other_Wikimedia_Wikis_server_side#Panoramio and commons:Commons:Forum/Archiv/2014/April#Alle_Bilder_eines_Panoramio-Fotografen_hier_hochladen. Hi Maxim, have you seen this: One Hundred Million Creative Commons Flickr Images for Research, "The dataset (about 12GB) consists of a photo_id, a jpeg url or video url, and some corresponding metadata such as the title, description, title, camera type, title, and tags. Plus about 49 million of the photos are geotagged!" No idea why the last count in march was 288 million CC flickr images (see infographic) and now 100 million CC flickr images... Request: Update of the Template:Baku Metro color

Greetings.

Could you update the Template:Baku Metro color which you created far back in 2012, by adding the purple color in this template alongside the red and green colors, because Baku Metro has opened a third metro line in April 2016, whose official color is purple.

I tried to link Template:S-line in the Avtovağzal (Baku Metro) and Memar Əcəmi-2 (Baku Metro) articles of the new Line 3 and in the Memar Əcəmi (Baku Metro) article of Line 2, but failed as they appear green.

I ignorantly thought I could just add a color bar in the template, but I messed it up and reverted my mess up in the template, because I discovered that I know nothing about modules and other such technical aspects, and leave this request to professionals like you. Can you fix this please?

This map is coordinated incorrectly. As а reference point can be Kotsiubynske. It's a small spot inside the Kiev city area. But in fact on this map, it's moved towards the top-right side.

I tried to correct it myself but I have no experience in such a job. I cannot even find Module:Location map/data/Ukraine Kiev Oblast Could you please help me?
