In regards to the Article on Generation Z: Here is what I edited from the original, as of August 3rd 2010.
They are highly connected [Because this is the beginning of a new section, I changed this to say "Generation Z"], many having had [I changed this introductory phrase in order to make it smoother to read] lifelong use of communications and media technologies such as the World Wide Web, instant messaging, text messaging, MP3 players, mobile phones and YouTube,[13][14] earning them the nickname "digital natives".[5] No longer limited to the home computer, the Internet is now increasingly carried in their pockets on mobile Internet devices such as mobile phones. A marked difference between Generation Y and Generation Z, is that older members of the former remember life before the takeoff of mass technology, while the latter have been born completely within it. Generation Z members are described as impatient and instant minded, and tending to lack the ambition of previous generations. They appear to be an introverted and aloof generation, since most prefer not to spend much time with real people. Psychologists are claiming an "acquired Attention Deficit Disorder" or "acquired Autistic Spectrum Disorder" since their dependency on technology is high and attention span is much lower, as opposed to previous generations who read books and other printed material, along with watching live television.[15].
Generation Z also marks a difference in political views and moral issues. Many teenagers that are currently in Generation Z and even the earliest college students, with the latest age as 19 of 2010 have more conservative viewpoints as of Generation Y [This was a very long run-on sentence that was a little hard to understand. I don't know if I managed to persevere the original meaning.]. Members of this generation tend to be more reserved, cautious, and conservative minded than their previous counterparts, Generation Y. They tend to follow their parents as role models rather than celebrities or sports fans as Generation Y did, and members of Generation Z are also more focused on their family. Generation Z members are also concerned about the environment and other global problems more than any other Generation, and approxiametely [Spelling error] 69% of members of Generation Z has a desire to vote. The are more unselfish [I assumed "The" was suppose to be "They" and tried to smooth out the structure. I don't think "more unselfish" is grammatically correct.], as opposed to selfish members of Generation Y and they are more consumer based than Generation Y, while these members were focused mainly on technology, retro, and indie culture.[16].[This was a run-on sentence. I tried to clean it up.]
Generation Z are also more individualistic.[17] While members of Generation [ Changed to say "Generation Y"] are group and team orientated , members of Generation Z are more self directed. Individualism become more common with Generation Z. Many parents of Generation Z are starting to work part time or even become stay at home parents and the children are raised more by parents and other family members instead of being in a day care facility which forced children to be in groups [This sentence, and the one that follows, were awkward. I tried to smooth them out.] Soccer moms and helicopter parents become less common, while parents begin to be more like advisors to that generation [Since this article is in regards to Generation Z, I don't think calling it "that" generation makes sense]. Generation Z teenagers and young adults will not be as focused on fitting into groups, and they tend to make their own decisions with their parents advice.
