Speedy deletion of "Matthew Biggs"

edit

A page you created, Matthew Biggs, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Jamie Jones (footballer)

edit

A tag has been placed on Jamie Jones (footballer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Jamie Jones (footballer) is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template hangon underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Jamie Jones (footballer) saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. You know you should wait till he has made his pro debut before adding an article for the player. Unless he makes a pro game he wont ever be considered for an article so you should really be waiting till after his has played. AfD Nomination: Jamie Jones (footballer)

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Jamie Jones (footballer) meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jamie Jones (footballer). Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Vinnie jones.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:42, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance tags from articles or images without fixing the problem they represent. If you have questions, you should read the policy pages linked above, or take advantage of the Media copyright questions page. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:53, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

An image that you uploaded, Image:Chambers111.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Jameboy (talk) 21:25, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

It would seem unlikely that you are the copyright holder on this photo - can you provide more details? Are you the official club photographer? In any case, surely the club would retain copyright on press photos such as these? Please ensure that you are truthful with any licensing information you add. --Jameboy (talk) 21:32, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:Leyton Orient Adam Boyd 571455.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). As a copyright violation, Image:Leyton Orient Adam Boyd 571455.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:Leyton Orient Adam Boyd 571455.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Image:Leyton Orient Adam Boyd 571455.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
 • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Image:Leyton Orient Adam Boyd 571455.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
 • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Image:Leyton Orient Adam Boyd 571455.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Struway2 (talk) 11:25, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The same message applies to images Image:David-silva.jpg, Image:0,,10439~3686664,00.jpg, and Image:Lennox lewis 482x246.jpg. Wikipedia isn't allowed to reproduce these images, and you shouldn't claim to hold the copyright on images which you didn't produce yourself. If you have uploaded any more images which you have copied from elsewhere and mistakenly claimed copyright to, might I suggest it would show good faith if you edited their pages to add the line

so that they also can be deleted. Thank you. Struway2 (talk) 11:53, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
