Speedy deletion nomination of Global Supply Chain Finance Ltd. edit

Hello MatthewRedd30,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Global Supply Chain Finance Ltd. for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 18:27, 14 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, the article is gone now (which means that at least one other person, a moderator, must have agreed that it was unambiguously promotional in tone), and I can't remember exactly what was in it. But to avoid this in the future, back your claims up with references from independent, reliable sources. Anyone can say they are "the world leading service provider in the Supply Chain Finance market," and anyone can put up a web page that says it, so citing GSCF's home page or FaceBook page doesn't help your case. But if Forbes or the New York Times or Le Matin says you are world leading service provider, you have proven your notability. Without independent, reliable references, an article that says someone or something is "the best" is just hype. Please see the General Notability Guideline for more information. Also see Wikipedia is not a directory -- companies are not entitled to a Wikipedia page just because they exist. You have to be able to show notability. ubiquity (talk) 18:03, 18 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
