Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Uncle Dolan edit

A tag has been placed on Template:Uncle Dolan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Article draft in template namespace. Duplicate of an earlier revision of the creator's sandbox. Possible case of WP:CSD A7 if this were an article.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. SuperMarioMan 20:52, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Most Popular Girls in School edit

The article The Most Popular Girls in School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No notability established. Zero reliable sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free media (File:Title card from the first episode of The Most Popular Girls in school.png) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Title card from the first episode of The Most Popular Girls in school.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:18, 27 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Block warning edit

Any more recreations of anything with a title that resembles "The Most Popular Girl in School" will result in you being blocked from editing. The article was deleted. Constantly recreating it, blanking it, and moving it to inappropriate places will not bring it back.—Kww(talk) 05:28, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's not fair at all. Not at all. It has credibility, notability, and everything else in order to have a Wikipedia page. This is bullying, seriously. --Matt723star (talk) 05:48, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's not bullying. I'm sorry you take it that way. You won't be blocked if you create it in your user space, leave it there, and improve it with sources. Once you have a set of reliable sources that talk about it, then we can talk about restoring it. But constantly recreating it, moving it all over, and then requesting deletion just pisses everyone off.—Kww(talk) 06:11, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
How do I do that then? Where is the user space? I always try to put it in my sandbox or whatever but then I can never get the name changed so that's why I move it because it gives me the option to change the name. --Matt723star (talk) 18:16, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
It's the renaming without anyone agreeing to the restoration that causes the problem. Create it in your sandbox and leave it there. Fix it there. When you think it's fixed, leave a message at User talk:Kww and, if I agree it's ready, I'll help you with the process of getting people to agree that it should be an article again.
Alright it's back up in my user space. Now I need help. --Matt723star (talk) 02:11, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Actually, never mind. I've decided to delete this profile and use my other name "barbiesarelegit". --Matt723star (talk) 02:20, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sources edit

The syntax glitches are easy to fix, but the sources are still pretty dubious. You need to find a couple of sources that are normally considered important: Entertainment Weekly, a couple of major newspapers, something like that.—Kww(talk) 22:55, 10 February 2013 (UTC) I'll get on that but could you help with the glitches? --Matt723star (talk) 23:47, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Stop. edit

This is a warning. You are what we term a single-purpose account: you appear to have no interest here other than promoting a single project which you have been shown does not meet our criteria for inclusion. If you do this again, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia without further warnings. Guy (Help!) 15:13, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

- Oh really? What gave you the idea that I was a singular purpose? You mustn't have seen my contributions to other pages that I've included in the past few weeks waiting for my page to be created. You know what though, at this point I don't care, I followed the rules, I created a page and it got accepted, and now it's gone. I gave it references, I had the creators look at it and they even approved of what I did. --Matt723star (talk) 15:19, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your contributions. These are outweighed hundreds to one by your edits to the deleted article. Did you tell the AfC people it was a previously deleted article? I see no evidence of this. Guy (Help!) 15:23, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I emailed someone from the Contact Us, and I said that it got deleted before and that I was afraid it would be again because I wanted to move it because in the title there was a random 2 that didn't belong there, and they said it should be fine. --Matt723star (talk) 15:29, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
In other words, you didn't tell the AfC people it had already been deleted. OTRS email volunteers make no judgment on content, we just tell you how to raise it on wiki. An email is never approval. I know this because I am also an email response volunteer. Guy (Help!) 16:13, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I messaged you on your page because I thought you were gone. How can I get it back then? --Matt723star (talk) 16:14, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Step 1: spend a while making significant edits to other subjects, to show that you're not only interested in promoting this. Step 2: Go to deletion review and explain what has changed to make the subject notable in the period since January. Oh, and bring better sources. Much better. Really much much better. Guy (Help!) 16:18, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I would also like to point out that talk page posts (which is where the user seems to be editing almost exclusively) is not really contributing. Nymf talk to me 18:27, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Are all Wikipedia heads as rude as you? --Matt723star (talk) 18:41, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Not my intention to be rude. I was just making sure that you understood what significant edits really meant. Nymf talk to me 19:00, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Be honest with me for a moment, Nymf, did you delete my page because it didn't have the rightful resources, or because I had to move it due to there being a two in the title? Because I followed all regulations in creating my first page, yet it was deleted when I moved it, even with all the sourcing I did, and even had the creators of the show backing me up. --Matt723star (talk) 19:29, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Matt723star, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to The Most Popular Girls in School has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — TAnthonyTalk 00:07, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please also see my response to you at Talk:The Most Popular Girls in School. Wikipedia is a much more controlled environment than other wikis, which may explain why you had trouble previously with the deleted MPGIS article. As you can see, I recently recreated the article within WP's format and content guidelines, and added citations, which are essential. I'd be happy to guide you moving forward with editing this article and others. Thanks.— TAnthonyTalk 00:13, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your GA nomination of West Coast (song) edit

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article West Coast (song) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria.   This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Matt723star -- Matt723star (talk) 22:01, 8 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Talk:West Coast (song)/GA1 edit

Matt723star, I'm afraid we have a problem here. It seems clear that you haven't read the GA nomination instructions, because you just started a review of your own nomination, and self-reviews are absolutely forbidden. Nominators and significant contributors to nominated articles are not eligible to review those articles. This is not an uncommon mistake for new GA participants to make, unfortunately; they sometimes think that they need to open the review to get it started, but that isn't the case at all.

I'm also troubled by the other review you started today, Talk:Keeping Up with the Kardashians/GA1. All GA reviews are supposed to be conducted based on the GA criteria, which are very specific in their nature and requirements. Your single sentence—there is more coming, I trust—while nice, does not address the criteria in any meaningful way. If all you meant was to make that one comment, please let me know.

I'm going to tag your West Coast review for deletion, since it cannot proceed. Besides, your nomination can't find a valid reviewer who can work on your nomination as long as your review page is there; I'll get it back in the nominations pool with its seniority intact. Best of luck going forward. And, if I may make a suggestion, start slow in the GA space until you learn the ropes. It helps avoid the sorts of issues that have hung you up today. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:11, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Oops I'm sorry. It's true I didn't quite study up on the criteria, I assumed it was like a discussion page where you write something and it build's off of there. My apologies, I didn't mean to cause any foul ups, but if it's all the same I do believe West Coast to be a great candidate for being a FA. --Matt723star (talk) 05:39, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
No problem, now that you know. Someone will be along in due course to start a review; please be sure you're ready when that happens so that when issues arise during the review—there's always something—you'll be available to do any necessary fixes. Should I also undo your creation of the Kardashian review, since it does need someone to do the complete review? You're always welcome to add a comment once a new reviewer comes along and starts a new review page. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:57, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Zola Story edit

Hello, Matt723star. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Zola Story".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 20:25, 8 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

I didn't want that deleted! I wanted to keep it! --Matt723star (talk) 04:39, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

June 2016 edit

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:The Private Life of a Cat, from its old location at User:Matt723star/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Anarchyte (work | talk) 09:46, 30 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your nomination of Carol (film) for FA edit

I don't know what's going to happen, but articles nominated by editors who have little or no editing history in the article are normally rejected. This is what happened when Carol was first nominated for GA. I was going to nominate it for FA but you beat me to the punch by one hour. However, I added the comment I wrote for nomination.

P.S. You forgot to follow all the procedures for nominating an article, therefore I added it to the nominations list and added the FAC template in its talk page. Pyxis Solitary talk 05:30, 24 October 2017 (UTC); edited 12:14, 28 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
