I think you have a good start. Your article sounds very encyclopedic so far. A few suggestions, firstly, keep an eye on grammar. I noticed just a couple of grammatical errors so you may want to reread and work those out. Secondly, I would work on explaining more about why the information you found is important. What does it tell us about the Iron Age people in Malawi, for instance. I would also suggest adding some pictures or images that could help the reader understand where and what they are reading about. Before taking this class I honestly did not know where Malawi was and, unfortunately I bet many others don't either. I think the biggest thing you should focus on is trying to make the information you've presented make sense together and not seem random, or show why you have picked the information that you did. Nice start! TutyFruity (talk) 03:08, 16 November 2016 (UTC)TutuFruityReply

I agree with TutyFruity that you have a good start going here! My first suggestion would be the wording of the article. There are some places that sound more like a talk piece than a wiki article. I think the most specific case is the last sentence in the Mwana wa Chentcherere II section. The information is very important but maybe it could be broken into two sentences and re-worded? Another is the depth of your information. One place I was wanting more information was in the introduction about the fragmented fossils. Were they human or otherwise? Not too much to worry about there, just little things like that. My third is the sections of the article. They are well organized and are clearly separated but are there more sites in the time periods? Also, are there specific characteristics of the time periods that could be included? Other than those I think this is a great start! Afg110 (talk) 15:40, 16 November 2016 (UTC)Afg110Afg110 (talk) 15:40, 16 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Article feedback

edit

Excellent work on your article Archaeology of Malawi I wanted to give you some feedback on a few things:

  • Your article should begin with a summary of the entire article which clearly establishes the topic of discussion, with the article title in bold text.
  • Only the first letter of each header should be capitalized, except for the case of proper nouns which are always capitalized, such as the names of people or the titles of books.
  • Consider adding some more wikilinks to specialized names or terms like lacustrine.
  • Citations 1 and 2 are properly done, though consider standardizing the capitalization in the title of the first one. Consider adding an ISBN for the book in citation 3 so readers can more easily locate the source you used. It's not clear if citation 4 refers to a book or an article or a webpage, so try to add more information like the name of a publisher or an ISBN or doi if available.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Rob (Wiki Ed) (talk) 22:05, 23 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
