AfD nomination of Oshodhara

edit

I have nominated Oshodhara, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oshodhara. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. An article you created maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you

edit

The article you created, Oshodhara maybe deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

Finding sources which mention the topic of your article is the very best way to avoid an article being deleted.

Find sources for Oshodhara: google books, google news recent, google news old, google scholar, NYT recent, NYT old, a9, msbooks, msacademic ...You can then cite these results in the Article for deletion discussion.

There are several tools and other editors who can help you keep the page from being deleted forever:

  1. List the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. You can get help listing your page on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain to you all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond to you before responding on the article for deletion page.
  3. When trying to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list of your own acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept. Acronyms in deletion debates are sometimes incorrectly used, or ignore rules or exceptions.
  4. You can vote to merge the article into a larger or better established article on the same topic.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 12:05, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Zafar Mahal has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://vikramjits.wordpress.com/2009/10/26/zafar-mahal-mehrauli/.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon

edit

Hello, Masterrai, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon, is copied from another Wikipedia page, Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 12:34, 26 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for trying to move the page, but there's an actual Move function that you should have used (it's hidden under the little triangle next to the star in your top toolbar). If you copy and paste, the history of edits is lost. I'll try to get this sorted out. Jpatokal (talk) 00:28, 27 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
So I will temporarily delete the new page, restore the old page, and then move the old page to the new title. Don't panic ;) Jpatokal (talk) 00:32, 27 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying and pasting its content into Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes.

Unfortunately, we will have to temporarily delete the new article you created under speedy deletion criterion G6, so that the page you intended to move may be properly moved in a way that will preserve its edit history. To avoid this problem in the future, please use the "Move" tab at the top of articles in order to re-title them.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. jcgoble3 (talk) 05:12, 27 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon Route Map - Phase I.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon Route Map - Phase I.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 08:31, 6 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

You said it was incorrect. I don't know what you mean, but I'm afraid I'm pretty dubious about your knowledge given your claim that Qutb Minar wasn't built of bricks despite all the sources saying that it was. Doug Weller talk 15:17, 15 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Delhi Heritage Top 10 Baolis Book Cover.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Delhi Heritage Top 10 Baolis Book Cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
