Userboxes

edit

To answer your question about userboxes: I see you made a page User:MasterA113/My Userboxes, and are interested in being able to transclude them in to pages. To do that you should make a seperate page for each one, e.g. User:MasterA113/My Userboxes/Sox and put one box per page. Then you can put {{User:MasterA113/My Userboxes/Sox}} on a page and it will appear there. For an example you can see my collection index at User:xaosflux/UBX. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! — xaosflux Talk 01:28, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help?

edit

Why does it say I'm trying to create spam when I try to add a link to my userpage on Encyclopedia Dramatica? I know it's been a while since this happened, but I'm just curious. --MasterA113 02:51, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Perhaps the server has a filter on it not allowing you to add "promotional text" by the link. See WP:UP

"What can I have on my user page?" near the bottom of the aforementioned section. This is all my best guess. Please replace the helpme template if this does not help.

Rondout School

edit

A tag has been placed on Rondout School, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to add more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ShakingSpirittalk 05:03, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, it should probably be deleted. I only wrote it to get rid of the red link. --MasterA113 05:04, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

While I don't usually delete articles on schools, no matter how small, this article was sooooooo short that I felt I had to delete it. If you have anything, even a sentence, to add to the article, you can recreate it. Herostratus 05:14, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I'll do a little more research. Thanks. --MasterA113 06:03, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to WikiProject Trains

edit

Hello and welcome to the Trains WikiProject! Thank you for adding your name to our project membership list. Our goal is to build the most comprehensive and detailed guide to rail transport on Wikipedia. As a project member, you may add the project membership userbox to your user page if you wish.

If you haven't done so already, please add our main project page to your watchlist and take some time to review the Trains project manual of style where we have collected guidelines and suggestions on notability and style for a consistent representation of rail transport related material. If you're curious about where to start, we've gathered a few suggestions in the Trains project to do list. If you'd like to specialize in a particular area of study within rail transport, take a look at the current Trains project task forces.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the project talk page or on my talk page. Again, welcome and happy editing! Slambo (Speak) 14:18, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Need Help!

edit

I need help from an administrator with this one. I am currently in the process of starting a Wiki about internet memes, and I need 2 copies of pages that are deleted and protected (If that is aloud). I need:

  • A Copy of the Brian Peppers article (Not Nonsense)
  • A Copy of the NEDM article (Not Nonesense)

If it would be easier, you can send me multiple versions of the articles, and I can figure out which ones are good versions. You can also email them to me at Jedikyle007@aol.com. Thanks! --MasterA113 00:04, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please on something like WP:ANI or WP:DRV. You probably will want to present a reason for the requests. Thanks. Xiner (talk, email) 00:09, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Email

edit

Hi MasterA113. I noticed your request on AN/I. It's not a good idea to post your email there, because of the risk of receiving spam. Instead, you should go to special:preferences, follow the instructions to set an email account, and replace the email address that you typed on AN/I with the following link: [[Special:Emailuser/MasterA113]]. Picaroon 00:33, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh it's fine. I don't care about spam, and I freely post it all over. I've got spam controls, and I won't hold anything against Wikipedia. --MasterA113 00:36, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rather than getting copies of the two deleted articles, check out the YTMND Wiki. It has an article on Brian Peppers [1] and NEMD [2]. There's no need to undelete anything, and it might be a site you could contribute to. AniMate 00:40, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Request for deleted articles

edit

In order to use the content, you will need to follow certain procedures, which you can find at Wikipedia:Copyrights#Reusers' rights and obligations. Assuming your site meets that requirement, I will see about getting the history for you. Prodego talk 00:40, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, and yes, I can meet all of those requirements. My site is another Wikia Wiki, so it will be easier to link back here, and license the text. --MasterA113 00:44, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
What is the wiki? Prodego talk 00:56, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's still in the request phase, but it's going to be called MemeWiki. If you'd prefer, I can wait until it's approved before you let me have the articles. --MasterA113 00:58, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
It might be better to wait. Also, while I have no problem with NEDM, I am not sure I am willing to give you the Peppers article, since it is honestly cruel to have it at all (poor man), and it was deleted by Jimbo. Prodego talk 01:08, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree with you, and I am against the exploitation of Brian Peppers. I just want it since it is a popular meme.--MasterA113 01:13, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sure, just do not repost it here, or violate the GFDL above, ect, ect... If you could set your e-mail address please (that way it is confirmed to be you), I will send it to you. Prodego talk 03:13, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Glad somebody else is finally interested. Yes, I'm still planning to make that sooner or later. I'd like to get some more potential contributors before I start it up, but we'll see I guess. Misery

edit

Hey, just letting you know you made a reversion on the Misery (film) page and sent me a condescending generic message blaming me for the problem you fixed. I just wanted to let you know that I did not contribute the line you deleted. I had fixed a grammar era on the line you deleted, but I did not contribute the line originally. That cast member listing had been there long before I fixed the grammar error. Check out the history page and you'll see that. You should be more careful before sending messages off to people. It reeks of misplaced hubris.

Stub sorting

edit

Hello MasterA113,

I noticed you marked an article as a stub using the {{stub}} template. Did you know that there are thousands of stub types that you can use to clarify what type of stub the article is? Properly categorizing stubs is important to the Wikipedia community because it helps various WikiProjects to identify articles that need expansion.

You can view the full list of stub types at WP:STUBS.

If you have questions about stub sorting, don't hesitate to ask! There is a wealth of stub information on the stub sorting WikiProject, and hundreds of stub sorters. Thanks! — jmorgan (talk) 21:28, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

New WikiProject Illinois Collaboration Division

edit

Hey, saw you were a participant in the Illinois WikiProject. I thought I would let you know that there is a new Collaboration Division up for the project. The goal of the division is to select an article or articles for improvement to Good article standard or higher. There is a simple nomination process, which you can check out on the division subpage, to make sure each candidate for collaboration has enough interested editors. This is a good way to get a lot of articles to a quality status quickly. Please consider participating. More details can be seen at the division subpage. IvoShandor 11:32, 10 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Chicago Police Patch.JPG)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Chicago Police Patch.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:53, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Page moves

edit

Hello. You moved the page Rocket Man (film) to Rocketman in January, so you've probably learnt this by now, but I thought I'd point it out just in case. To move (rename) a page, it is much better to use the 'move' tab at the top of the page than to copy the content to a new page. Using the move page is not only quicker and easier, creating a redirect at the old page automatically, it preserves the edit history of the old article at the new article, as if the page had been called the new name since it was created. Hope at best this is useful, at worst it isn't annoying! Skittle 19:44, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Greg Stillson.PNG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Greg Stillson.PNG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Proposed deletion of Iraq 2003

edit

The article Iraq 2003 has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Wikipedical (talk) 08:44, 19 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
