Aragorn

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm just dropping you a line to explain why I've just reverted the most recent edit you made to Aragorn. I think you were trying to add the information about Arathorn's courtship of Gilraen, but what you ended up doing was removing all the wiki formatting from the "Biography" section (so that words like Isildur and Númenor were no longer links). I had earlier moved the information about Arathorn's courtship to the Arathorn page, since it's really relevant to him and not his son. (It's relevant to Aragorn that his father died when he was young, but the fact that his grandmother had to convince his grandfather to let his mother marry his father isn't, really.)

Please don't let this edit put you off from contributing to Wikipedia: I'm sure that you have lots of excellent contributions to make. Again, welcome to Wikipedia, and let me know if you have any questions. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 07:50, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:DNA and process of DNA.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:DNA and process of DNA.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Recent article creations

Hello. I noticed you've been creating some new articles related to biology. It's great that you're interested in the subject, but unfortunately the pages you've created are redundant with articles we already have, such as DNA and its related articles, post-translational modification, and to some extent autoimmune disorder. Additionally, we don't sign articles with individual usernames as you have done, because each individual article is a collaborative product. Lastly, the images you've uploaded, Image:DNA and process of DNA.jpg and Image:DNA and the process of DNA.JPG, lack licensing information and appear to have been scanned from a book. As such, they will probably be deleted.

Like I said, it's great that you're interested in these topics, but please have a look at the GFDL licensing information and be sure to search for the subject of your new article before you create it. You can request deletion of redundant articles you've created by placing the text {{db-author}} at the top. Opabinia regalis 16:11, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi again. I wanted to let you know that I've nominated some of your articles for deletion here and here. Don't take this as a discouraging sign - just remember to search for the intended subjects of your new articles before you create them, and reading up on wiki markup couldn't hurt either. Happy editing! Opabinia regalis 05:22, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi there. I recommended that the articles Opabinia regalis mentioned above be deleted. Please don't take this personally: clearly you could contribute much to many articles here, and I am sure your contributions would be valued. However, since we already have articles on much the same subjects as the ones in question, there really is no need for others. It's a side effect of being new here, I guess. Enjoy editing Wikipedia! • Thanks for the suggestions guys. Looking back on what I had tried to contribute, I think it was just a dose of teenage excitement that led to the crazy articles. I have finally gotten back into Wikipedia and hope to do better this time. :) Manoj Prajwal (talk) 22:13, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Isaac Newton

Hello, I am a new editor here at Wikipedia and I am interested in elevating Isaac Newton to FA status. But since I am new, I have been advised to seek the help of other more experienced editors before submitting it for FA. I was wondering if you can help me with the article, or to seek out other editors who can do that? The article is very nearly FA status; and only needs someone experienced to handle all the trivial details that need to be ironed out. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 07:43, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Pancake Manor logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Pancake Manor logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 15:13, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 10:05, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
