My RfA results edit

Hey Marudubshinki/Archive 34, how is it going? Thank you for supporting my Request for adminship! It passed with a final vote of 73/1/1, which means that I have been granted adminship! I look forward to using these tools to enhance and maintain this wonderful site. I will continue regular article/project contributions, but I will also allocate a sizable portion of my wikischedule toward administrative duties :) Thanks again, and if you have any questions/comments/tips, please let me know! — Deckiller 04:38, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations! It's great to have another administrator around knowledgeable about Star Wars. Many happy deletions and blocks! --maru (talk) contribs 03:42, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for patrolling my user page edit

Hi - I haven't had my user page on my watchlist so I've been completely oblivious to the vandals. Thanks for patrolling the page -- and updating me on the DoA disambiguation situation :) --Jon Dowland 13:46, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome. --maru (talk) contribs 15:59, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for fixing the FMA revert edit

Hi there,

Thanks for fixing the FMA revert. I think I lost track of which version was which. I'm still new to all this. Again, thanks. --Tachikoma 21:27, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

No problem. Diffs made it easy to see that you'd made a mistake, and 'twas quickly mended. --maru (talk) contribs 21:52, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reasons for merging Amarillo, Texas-related articles? edit

Hi, I saw you tagged the merge template on the Amarillo, Texas and suggested that we should we merge it with Amarillo, Texas featured in the mass media but you didn't discussed why. In the main article's discussion tab, there was a discussion last month why we should create a spin-off article called "Amarillo, Texas featured in the mass media". (the section used to be in the Amarillo article for a couple of years.) The reasons why we created the spin-off article is the page is getting to long, article size (the article is nearly hitting the 50kb mark but I think those dang reference templates are causing it.), and the flow of the article. A lot of city article's have spin-off list articles. In fact the feature article Boston, Massachusetts has a lot of spin-off lists. :-) --J. Nguyen 21:59, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Because it just isn't a real article in and of itself; and 50KB is not that large. Splitting out begs to happen at around 70 and 80 kilobytes, IMO. I saw the article because robchurch over on the IRC channel was bemoaning how he wanted to delete it, but couldn't as he lost his admin powers. --maru (talk) contribs 22:05, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: private IRC Chat edit

I hope I wasn't incoherent nor otherwise annoying in the private IRC chat between ourselves the other day. I have somewhat worried about it in the days since, so I'm kind of trying to get an update.

Some people speculated that I haven't made enough useful contributions on the night I chatted with you. In case you're also worried, I have made a table of articles I created, on my userpage. I made it the other day in an effort to prove to users that I've made a lot of useful contributions, and so I can gain respect among the wikimunity. --Shultz III 09:34, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, the IRC chat is not the annoying bit- the annoying bit is that I've helped you several times and put in a good word for you on some occasions, but you keep on antagonizing other administrators. I don't think you are doing it all that deliberately (besides the "humor" you said you're keeping to Uncyclopedia), but like Cool Cat, you're cruising for a bruising and I'm not sure I want to help in the aftermath. --maru (talk) contribs 23:40, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Oh, sheesh. What has Cool Cat been doing?? Btw, did you look at the table of new articles I made? --Shultz III 02:26, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Cool Cat... has not been getting along with others, and is embroiled as usual in political disputes. As for the table- that's well and useful when you're starting out, so to speak, but I rapidly found keeping lists too troublesome as I did more and more (there's plenty of work I need to do, no need to make more for myself, right?). I like to flatter myself and think I have enough of a reputation that I don't need one (though if I did, I would add in Alfred W. McCoy- wrote it on a lunch break while waiting out some rain). --maru (talk) contribs 02:34, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

More cultural evidence that C-3P0 is gay edit

Look at all the references of C3PO, popular culture considers him gay, Tony Daniels is gay... Therefore, 3PO is gay.

That does not follow. --maru (talk) contribs 15:37, 16 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Supershadow removals edit

thanks for the tips, but sadly i wasn't experimenting with Wikipedia, i think the supershadow article while necessary does not need to include all the stupid stuff mentioned there, this is an encyclopedia for Christ's sake, so I guess I'm reverting the article back to my version, which i believe is more than enough for an entry of the relevance supershadow.com deserves --Anon.

And I will revert it back and block you if need be; those contents are useful for arguing against and detecting SS vandalism, if nothing else. --maru (talk) contribs 17:30, 18 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Test1 edit

Hi there. I don't know much about Wikipedia. You left me a talk about a "test" I made.

I thought I fixed it myself. It wasn't actually a test. It was a demonstration to my girlfriend about the power and danger of Wikis. Thanks for your concern. --Anon.

Even if you repaired your damage almost immediately, somebody could still have seen it- in addition to the fact that you wasted at least one (mine- who knows many others were watching that page and had to examine the diffs) editor's time, clogged up the history with pointless edits, and created a bad version of the article. --maru (talk) contribs 21:22, 18 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
