Disambiguation link notification for June 11 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Prize of the Ecumenical Jury, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Montreal Film Festival. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 11 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

TIFF edit

For future reference, please do not remove the hidden sections that are currently present in 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. Because various program line-ups are still pending for announcement in the next couple of weeks (e.g. Platform Prize dropped today), the sections need to be there in preparation for having films added to them once an annoucement is made — so they're hidden while they're empty, and will be unhidden when there's a list of films to add, but should not be removed from the article entirely given that they'll just need to be readded again sometime within the next 14 days. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 16:05, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Pictures of Ghosts edit

Hi. I note that you used an external link to IMDb on this article, which is fine. However, you don't seem to be aware that there are specific templates for doing that, namely {{IMDb title}} and {{IMDb name}}. These are to be preferred to the way you did it, for reasons explained at WT:WikiProject Film/Archive 79#Masking imdb links as wikilinks: saving others like me having to clean up afterwards. August 2023 edit

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.--Asqueladd (talk) 06:55, 19 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Vis-à-vis the hierarchy of subsections, the best standard a festival article could follow is the festival's standard. Don't try to shoehorn a purported harmonization (or "pattern") alien to such context. See also MOS:SEAOFBLUE to avoid linking unnecessary stuff as you repeateadly did in the introductory section of 71st San Sebastián International Film Festival.--Asqueladd (talk) 07:04, 19 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I would like to echo the complaints of @Asqueladd:. Your large-scale edits are superfluous at best and destructive at worst. Please do not try to transform every similar Wikipedia article to match your desired template (i.e. trying to create a pattern between every film festival page). Οἶδα (talk) 09:40, 22 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Regarding my Venice Film Festival editions, IF you look closely you will find out that i'm just correcting grammar errors, wrong titles, or broken wikilinks. Thank you for your concern, but that's definitely not the case Martineden83 (talk) 09:54, 22 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Martineden83! Your additions to 2023 New York Film Festival have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:27, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your contributions to In Water. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 00:22, 18 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
