Mirrors edit

Thanks for contributing to the article Igbo language. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Thank you so much for your review kuru but then I'd love it if you'd explain better, I couldn't get some part of the note. Thank you so much though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarteeDave (talkcontribs) 20:25, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
The source you added here clearly notes at the bottom of the page: "This content was extracted from Wikipedia and is licensed..."
The source you added here clearly labels the material with a "Wikipedia" header and credits the Wikimedia Foundation.
The source you added here clearly notes "Article source: Wikipedia: Jju language" at the bottom of the page.
Subsequent to my warning above, you added another source here that again clearly notes "Text taken from Wikipedia - Ilorin under the CC-BY-SA-3.0 on July 31, 2021".
There were several others I removed that had copied material from here as well, but failed to give proper credit. I think what you're doing is searching for the exact phase you see in the article, maybe even with quotes around it. When you do that, you're going to get a lot of these mirrors in the results. Any time you see the exact same material on another page, one of two things is possible: either they copied from us, or we copied from them. Both are problems. If they copied from us, you can't use it as a source. If we copied from them (hard to tell sometimes), then it's likely a copyright violation and it needs to be removed from here.
You are expected to evaluate sources carefully - in the case of those mirrors where the text is very clearly noted as from Wikipedia, you should know that it can't be used. Kuru (talk) 01:11, 16 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Since this previous warning, you've added more references to very clearly identified mirrors here, here, and here. This includes the dbpedia site that we previously discussed. Please consider this a final warning; if you're not going to read the sources, do not add them. Sam Kuru (talk) 03:50, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
