Hi Marshall edit

We've had some great work done on the Armenian Air Force by one contributer, user:Askari Mark, but now that the new Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/National militaries task force is coming together, I'd like to concentrate on some of the less well known armies as well. Are you aware of information you could direct me to - or translate, maybe - about the current status, locations, units etc of the Armenian Army to add to the article? Buckshot06 (talk) 21:52, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your support and pointers on this issue Marshall. While I'm not going to make much progress on Armenia, another country I'm interested in is Turkey. Would you have any pointers or local info sources on finding out the current structure of the Turkish Army - brigades, locations, etc? I've pretty much found everything there is in English on the 'Net. Thanks Buckshot06 (talk) 01:53, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Stop with the propaganda. edit

You don't need to use newly invented vocabulary words like "genocide denialism" or "Historical revisionism" to discredit or attack my opinions or editing style. It's simply not nice.

I have never denied the hundreds of thousands of Armenians that died or suffered and thus I am not denying any facts, I am simply showing the difference in my opinion on the label of genocide being applied to the killings. Though inexcusable as ANY killings are, it is also inexcusable for Armenians to massacre Turks with or without provocation. And you and I both know the massacres were equally inhumane on both sides, but from the thousands of Talat Pasha and Enver Pasha telegrams I've read I find it odd that anyone would conclude it was a state-sponsored genocide, when it was more a local violence created by Christian-Islamic tensions ignited from a minority Armenian Rebellion.

So please take care of your POV edits in articles, and make sure when you cite sources that you are not concluding for the reader but rather presenting FACTS for the reader to draw his own conclusions.

I am not here to argue with you or fight with you, and you should really cease to "pursue" me, and simply persecute my opinions or my verifiable editing simply because you disagree with me. Reporting me to administrators or making ANIs about me, will only show your true intentions as a suppressor of information. I mean no offense to you, and I like your contributions, and respect your help in wikipedia, but I believe you really should give me a chance to correct the POV edits as these POV edits ONLY DAMAGE your belief that a genocide did occur. Are we not searching for the truth?

Also "Your comments on your user page are insulting and offensive and Wikipedia administrators will take action since it is obvious soapboxing." -- I have done no such offense. Please do not accuse me of violations I did not commit, it's simply not nice and will only backfire against you.

Thank you for your time and concern, I'll be more careful with my edits to make sure I'm not being POV in any way, and I hope you'll do the same. talk § _Arsenic99_ 22:55, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Urartu , Hayasa pages and Armens edit

Somebody removed the History of Armenia template again from Urartu and Hayasa pages, please put it back. They are removing from certain pages as they desire, yet other pages are kept in the same form, which they give excuse on certain pages for cluttering. It is vandalism. Hi Marshall, I am trying to piece together some information regarding my wifes Great Grandfather named Alexander Chernishev born around 1840/1860. We believe he was a high ranking officer in the Russian Army, and was sent to the Kars fortress for defence purposes. There we believe he had a daughter born called Maria Alexandrovna. Stepan Malkhasyants orphan tag edit

I put the orphan tag on the Stepan Malkhasyants article due to the lack of pages that link to it, as shown here. As you can see, only one other article links to it, an unusually small number. I shall leave the decision on whether or not to put the tag back up in your hands, though I would strongly advise you to do so, as there really are very few articles linked to that page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Armenian BM-21.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Armenian BM-21.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:33, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

When removing content from an Armenian/Azeri/etc. related article, especially sourced content, you really need to offer an explanation on the talk page. The onus is on the person adding the content to justify it, but surely you understand that with these articles, reverts also have to be justified, so as to not trigger an edit war. --Golbez (talk) 02:54, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I never disputed the fact that I made those reverts. I honestly wish I didn't have to make them but in my judgment, the edits I were reverting were stemming from unilateral edits conducted by an administrator (Dbachmann) who has done nothing but to heap scorn and insults against Armenian historians. It's absurd to accuse me of WP:BATTLE and WP:CIVIL when that has been the crux of Mr. Dbachmann's edits (see the relevant talk page at Talk: Movses Khorenatsi). I repeatedly asked everyone, administrators and editors alike, to first achieve consensus and then go ahead with the controversial edits. Because Mr. Dbachmann did not heed my requests and made edits which no editor agreed with, I felt compelled to revert to the original version until a consensus was achieved. To add to this, Mr. Dbachmann continually launched insults against his opponents despite all calls for restraint. I will withhold making any reverts so long as there is productive discussion established on the talk page. Thank you. --Marshal Bagramyan (talk) 21:03, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You seem to want to spend more effort blaming Dbachmann instead of admitting fault. There's no real indication of willingness to stop, but rather rationalization of actions. kurykh 21:09, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why have an unblock request option available, anyway? They're always declined. Administrators, of course, can never be at fault. We do have to assume good faith, so I will say that Dbachmann is a fine, amicable editor who tolerates disagreements with his changes to articles and would never make mean-spirited comments on discussion/talk pages. Request reason:

After taking a relatively enjoyable and relaxing Wikibreak for over a month, due to the burnout and edit wars of the past months, I feel like now is an appropriate time to have my block lifted. I have gone to great lengths and have largely explained to Nishkid64 and certain other administrators on how this mess unraveled, the details of which are probably better left in e-mails as they are sensitive and private in nature. I concede that I exercised poor judgment and made a mistake in not revealing my personal friendship with The Diamond Apex, who, despite the attempts by certain users to persuade otherwise, is indeed a real person behind a real account and not a meat/sockpuppet of mine. I wish to continue making fruitful contributions on Wikipedia and I am hoping that the reviewing administrator will find my explanation satisfactory to the degree that my block is lifted. If the details fall short of sufficiently explaining the situation, however, I would then ask you to either e-mail me or, even better, to speak with Nishkid64 so that he fill you in on all the details. Thank you.--Marshal Bagramyan (talk) 20:02, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you have explained to the blocking admin via e-mail, as you say, then as this a checkuser block wiki procedure requires that the decision to unblock should not be made without reference to the checkuser. So let us wait for him. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 20:12, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

That is, you (under all accounts) are banned from pages related to Armenia or Azerbaijan, including edits to such talk pages and other fora, and also from edits related to Armenia or Azerbaijan in fora not dedicated to these topics.
