I think that a Scottish Heraldry page would be great. All I've got to go on is Innes of Learney's Scots Heraldry. For now, I'm just trying to focus on general heraldry pages. Armigerous families

You're quite right about Scottish clans and armigerous families. I hadn't checked my facts about Veitch and Jardine - just knew that they werre both closely associated with my own Porteous family in Tweeddale and Annandale (along with the Tweedies) and made an assumption. Emmer in .ch

Hi, yes, I'm pretty sure Emmer is being grown in .ch (I live here). It's not exactly the most common type of wheat, but it is definitely there, and at least one of the largest food store chains (Migros) is selling Emmer bread as part of its normal offerings.

Clan Naisbitt

I don't believe that the Naisbitt names are exclusively nor even at all 'Scottish', the name descends from Northumbria (which did encompass a small part of what is now Scotland) and the majority of the names descendants fell on the south side of the divide. Hello again Mark, regarding the Naisbitt variations in England, you are right that the name does not appear on the census records pre 1701, which wa sthe first comprehensive census for Northumberland and Durham, no the wonder they didn't appear in 'England' before that.
