ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Mladen Stojanović edit

Hi, Mark! Thank you for your great translation of Mladen Stojanović. However, I would like to point your attention to the verse "Есть Младен, что героев звуком лечит". In my translation from Serbian, I added "sound" at the end of that verse just for metre and rhyme. In this instance, it has no accoustic meaning, just "healthy", and звуком is not at all needed in your transl. But also героев: it's a relatively modern word, but the original verse has a more archaic word (for which I'm not aware that there is an equivalent in English), which I think could have an equivalent in the Russian "bogatyr". Especially if this explanation in that article is correct: "In modern Russian, the word is used to describe a knight, a warrior or, figuratively, a strong person. On the other hand, I presume it is more of an East Slavic term, so maybe not quite applicable to a South Slavic verse... In any way, all the best :) Vladimir (talk) 19:11, 30 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for March 16 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kseniya Borodina, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rambler (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Dmitry Portnyagin edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dmitry Portnyagin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. power~enwiki (π, ν) 18:31, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Soviet Aviation Task Force Invitation edit

Hi! I noticed you are fluent in both Russian and English and was hoping you would join the Soviet Aviation Task Force and translate some of our missing articles into English. Many of the articles on the list are Heroes of the Soviet Union that have articles in many languages except English, and others on the list are major plane crashes that have yet to be articles on English Wiki. We also have many stubs that can easily be expanded through translation from Russian. I really hope you can join our task force and assist in translating. Thank you, --PlanespotterA320 (talk) 14:11, 23 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Migran Malkhasyan edit

Hello Mark Ekimov,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Migran Malkhasyan for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

File:Credit Pilot.png edit

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. CreditPilot PLC moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, CreditPilot PLC, does not have enough citations to significant coverage to remain published. Currently, all the provided citations are to either mere-mentions of the subject, or to quotes from representatives of CreditPilot, which cannot be considered independent. I was unable to find anything more substantial in a brief internet search. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. signed, Rosguill talk 19:22, 10 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Credit Pilot.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Credit Pilot.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:26, 12 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Dmitry_Erokhin edit

The article Dmitry_Erokhin has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Because you are the creator of this article, I would like to inform you that I have marked it for deletion. I explain the reasons in the deletion notice. Porridge (talk) 22:59, 10 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

WOWCube edit

Do you have any connection to the large group of sockuppets and meatpuppes that have been editing and voting at the WOWCube AfD?ThatMontrealIP (talk) 15:09, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • I am not familiar with any of those people. Furthermore, I have no relation to WOWCube developers or someone else. Mark Ekimov (talk) 15:12, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
It'a interesting because this article had had literally a half dozen or more sockpuppets, meatpuppets and paid editors pushing and promoting it in recent days. So, while AGF, your edits are suspicious. See the unblock requests at User talk:Iexeru.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 15:24, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
I've never heard of that user and never seen that article before. I don't think that primary or secondary Russian language sources are afillated to developers or promoters. Mark Ekimov (talk) 15:29, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ok thanks. The afd will be over soon, so it will either be deleted or draftified. They made a very massive COI effort spanning years and many employees to promote the unreleased product that is WOWcube. The massive COI effort made basically all the claims in the article suspect. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 15:39, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • @ThatMontrealIP:, could you restore the text of the WOWCube removed article for my personal sandbox so I could study and find all weak points of it? Mark Ekimov (talk) 15:49, 26 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
I do not have the ability to do that. It has also been salted so as to prevent the ongoing promotional campaign by the WOWCube creators. Have you been contacted by them?ThatMontrealIP (talk) 15:56, 26 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
No, there were not any contacts. Mark Ekimov (talk) 15:58, 26 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
