RE: Vandalism to Todd Akin Wikipedia article.

Mr. Lodes, I'm writing to ask for any help you may be able to provide in stopping future vandalism to the Wikipedia article of your political opponent Todd Akin. An unregistered IP user has been monitored vandalizing the Akin Wiki. This very same IP has also been monitored making positive contributions to your self-created Wikipedia entry (prior to it being removed by administrators). If this is someone you know, the IP is 97.91.181.105, please ask them to cease and desist any further vandalism. Unfortunately if they are a friend, relative or other supporter their actions on your behalf could reflect badly on you as a candidate, falling into the category of political "dirty tricks". I consider myself impartial and neutral in this situation, only wanting what is in the best interest of Wikipedia and its established policies. Rest assured if someone associated with Mr. Akin, Ms. Steelman, or Mr. Brunner was vandalizing a Mark Lodes Wiki, I would be addressing them for assistance in the same way. Marks reply: I exist. I am actually running for U.S. Senate. Todd Akin staffers have repeatedly deleted me from the list of likely candidates on his wiki page, and they have gone so far as to delete my wiki page. The only ones pulling dirty tricks are Todd Akin's staffers. This is a fact. I have screenshots of the events, and furthermore, deleting me from the internet by digital assassination is the dirtiest of dirty tricks. I am filing a harassment suit against Mr. Akin and his staffers presently. Sectors reply to Mark: There are several factual errors in your reply. 1) Your self-created Wiki was deleted by an administrator for failure to follow accepted guidlines and proper references for biographies of living persons, not by any supporters of Mr. Akin. Things have to be independently verifiable by a reliable source, not just your "say so". 2) I have no proof of the motives of the unregistered IP (173.21.183.11) that was involved in deleting your name from the Todd Akin Wiki. I however also deleted your name on multiple occassions NOT because I am in any way a staffer or supporter of Mr. Akin, but because once again the unregistered IP that added it did not abide by the Wikipedia guidlines for properly referencing information. Other Wikipedia editors have done the same and for the same reason. You will note on the Wiki United States Senate election in Missouri, 2012 that once you finally complied with an independent reliable source (the St. Louis radio interview) I have reverted the others who deleted your name and issued a strong caution to IP user 173.19.130.136 about their unacceptable deleting behavior. I am neutral, a referee if you will, and only ensuring that the Wikipedia rules are followed. 3) You seem to have misread my initial request for help. I was not "painting you as some kind of vandal". I was asking for your help in stopping the unregistered IP (97.91.181.5) from vandalizing....that is UNLESS you freely admit to being one and the same as that IP. In conclusion, before making assumptions and accusations I strongly urge you to fully read and comprehend Wikipedia polices on verifiable, independent references/sources for all articles. P.S. If you can provide the aforementioned independent, reliable, biography sources (i.e. news articles) I would be glad to assist you in creating a Wiki entry for you that does "pass muster" with our rules...especially if you should win the primary and general election. I have created/edited/and patrol for vandalism, dozens of Wikis for Missouri politicians both Democrats and Republicans.

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Deletion

Hi, Mark, I deleted your recent article because it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts or show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references. As a matter of policy, all biographies of living people will be deleted if they do not have references. Although you had a "Reference" section, the only live link was to a political website (not an independent reliable source) which didn't mention you as far as I could see. The other two weren't linked to websites, but they looked like other political sites. Most of the stuff in your article is Facebook-type trivia, rather than encyclopaedic content. The only item that might meet the notability criteria is your candidacy, but unless I've misunderstood, you haven't actually got the Republican nomination yet, anyone can be proposed for a nomination, as I understand it.

It was also written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. You don't give your date of birth, but you do put in a spamlink to your business. Other spammy bits, unsupported by in-line reliable sources include Patented Inventor... Both first choice schools... Finally, the "2012 U.S. Senate Candidacy" has no reliable sources, but is littered with spam links to political campaigns Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:31, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
