Thank you for raising the issue and acting upon them. I have been trying to talk some sense to Xuo Tran, but the editing practice adopted has been uncooperative.

Pantheon-Sorbonne University edit

Please use the article talk page and get consensus before making changes. Thanks. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:15, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

References edit

Hello! Please avoid using bare urls for references, as you did at Sorbonne name dispute, as they make it harder to verify the sources and ensure they are reliable. A more complete citation should include title, author, publication, and date. See Wikipedia:Citing sources and Help:Referencing for beginners for more info. Citation templates like {{cite news}}, {{cite web}}, or {{cite book}} are helpful, and the ReFill tool can be useful as well. Cheers, --Animalparty! (talk) 19:27, 21 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring edit

This is a warning to User:MapcheckerParis and User:Xuo Tran: You are edit warring. If you persist, you may both be blocked from editing. The articles will get along fine without you. Again, use the talk pages and discuss things together. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:02, 22 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have raised a warning about vandalism over the Bibliothèque de la Sorbonne article, with very detailed and verifiable official references. The response I get from User:Xuo Tran is simply to delete that content from the article. You are putting us both at the same level but I am putting forward evidence verifiable by any third party able to read french. In insist that without specific references to the convention the actions of User:Xuo Tran are akin to vandalism. Please take this remark seriously. User:Xuo Tran: second warning. MapcheckerParis (talk) 07:57, 22 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
If your edits are disputed and reverted, regardless of their quality, you must go to the talk page and discuss rather than edit warring. The edit warring at Bibliothèque de la Sorbonne was between 07:34, 5 May 2018‎ and 23:37, 21 May 2018‎. Your article talk post was 22 May. Where was the discussion back and forth that is supposed to happen? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:04, 22 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Copyright problem on Sorbonne Grand amphitheatre edit

Content you added to the above article appears to have been copied from http://expatwithkidsinparis.blogspot.fr/2015_01_01_archive.html or elsewhere online. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the content had to be removed. All content you add to Wikipedia must be written in your own words. Please leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:49, 23 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Diannaa this is surprising. How else can the grand amphitheatre be described? It does host official ceremonies, and it does host prize awards. It does have a capacity of 1000 people... MapcheckerParis (talk) 07:28, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
The content that was removed was a paragraph about statues, monochrome medallions, and Le Bois Sacré. It's identical to the three paragraphs in the source webpage that start "In six niches there are statues..." — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:09, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
DiannaaOk, understood. With it deleted, have all the copywright concerns been addressed? Is it safe to remove the banner now?MapcheckerParis (talk) 11:12, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I checked the article already and there's no other copyvio that I can see. There is no copyvio banner; there's a banner requesting more citations. You should ask User: Graeme Bartlett if it's okat to remove it; that's the person who added it. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:17, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have remove the ref improve banner as there is now an independent reference. I had already removed all the copied text that I could find before patrolling the page. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:31, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Chancellerie des Universités de Paris edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chancellerie des Universités de Paris requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.sorbonne.fr/en/the-chancellerie-universites-paris/organisation-and-missions. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:55, 23 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Diannaa, I've addressed your concerns. I've rewritten the article by translating part of the French Wikipedia version. MapcheckerParis (talk) 07:54, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
The new version is okay from a copyright point of view. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:13, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
