Two Articles in need of your attention edit

There are two entries at Wikipedia, which have falsely created -- they are Turco-Persian and Turko-Persian Tradition. Both entries are factitious. I have requested the entries to be deleted. My reasons are:

The term Turko-Persian Tradition (or Turco-Persian) does not exists academically and it is a factitious entry! Check the Encyclopaedia Iranica to confirm -- The correct name for that culture is the Persianate culture not the "Turko-Persian". Turkophones (mostly of mixed race and Persianized in culture) only spoke in Turkic dialects and were in the military. That is not enough participation in creating and forming the culture to deserve the name "Turko-Persian Tradition" – This is misinformation. All the elements in that area, which have to do with tradition and culture, were drawn from the Iranian culture (Persian, Kurdish, Azari, Baluchi, Tajik, Luri, Gilaki, Talishi, Mazandarani, etc.), and the Islamic faith, not much Turkic elements (like shamanism, yurts etc.) were incorporated in. That is what makes the name "Turko-Persian" an imaginary one and therefore the entry should be deleted.

Any contributions would greatly appreciated. Bā Sepās Surena 02:26, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

August 2007 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Vakil Fortress. Re: your comment. It's generally considered vandalism to blank out articles - particularly without a relevant edit summary which explains the reasoning (which in this case appears to be a valid one). However, even if an article is no longer valid or is subsumed into another article, it should not be blanked. What you can do is redirect the article to the new one (by putting #REDIRECT [[Arg of Karim Khan]] in this case). If you need any help, feel free to ask on my talk page. → AA (talk) — 22:24, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Shiraz Review edit

Thank you for reviewing Shiraz. I read what you said on the talk page and have added more references. But I wanted to ask you to unofficially review it again. If the changes that I made were enough then I will nominate it again and hope that you didn't miss anything. If you found a problem with it PLEASE tell me on the talk page. If the page needs more refferences please tell me where. Thank you for your time.Manu kian maheri93 11:55, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is still a lot of work to do. Nearly every paragraph will need at least one citation. For example, each sentence in this paragragh needs a citation so that readers can check if it is true:
The cooler climate of Shiraz and its beautiful garden attract millions of Iranian and foreign tourist a year. Shiraz is one of the most popular tourist destinations for Iranians at Nowruz. In March of 2007 around three million tourists visited Shiraz.
Also, see here for more tips on how to improve the article to GA level. Epbr123 12:12, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Shiraz mayors edit

Hi, you seem to be adding these so I made you a category: Category:Mayors of Shiraz. Please include the category in your article (type [[Category:Mayors of Shiraz]] at the bottom of the article) to get them categorized. It would also be better if you listed some sort of source or external link for these articles, and if you know the birth and death dates. In Persian is okay too. Perhaps you're just working on them and going to add that later, that would be okay. Rigadoun (talk) 22:01, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Best thing to do is don't create those articles, mayors normally fail WP:BIO, and will likely get deleted. Currently they are a A1 in WP:CSD. Jaranda wat's sup 22:30, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Shiraz pic edit

Why did you move the pictures on the shiraz page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Manu kian maheri93 (talkcontribs) 23:24, 31 August 2007 (UTC) Reply

On my computer there was large ugly white space from the lead to the table of contents. I moved the images down a section so readers wouldn't have to scroll down as much to see the rest of the article. P.Haney 00:01, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
That happened to me too;but in the prosses you moved the Qor'an gate into the safavid period section, when it belongs to the tazi arab section. I think we should delete the eram picture or add it to the infobox. what do u think?Manu kian maheri93 00:05, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
My apologies, I went back and moved the images again. The Qor'an Gate picture is back where it belongs and I moved the Eram Garden picture to the climate section because it mentions the cities many gardens. I hope those changes work. P.Haney 00:26, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
