GA

You seem very passionate about Mani Ratnam's films; ever thought of taking any article of his films to GA status? Kailash29792 (talk) 10:59, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited S. S. Rajamouli, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tamil. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You removed this source which actually seems very useful for the article. Care to explain why? Kailash29792 (talk) 11:10, 11 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Account name

edit

If your are not really Mani Ratnam, I suggest you rename your account to avoid being blocked per WP:IMPERSONATE. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:20, 12 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have reported your user name at WP:UAA because after requesting you above you still did not pay attention. Administrators will look into it now. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 10:10, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

MY RESPONSE: My username is NOT 'MANI RATNAM', but 'ManiRatnamAvargal'. The Tamil word 'Avargal' makes it a third person reference. If you still insist on a name change, do guide me through the procedure, as I am unsure whether I can manually change it myself.

I would prefer the name to be changed to 'ManiRatnamRasigan'. 'Rasigan' is again a Tamil word, which means 'FAN'. Another option is 'IndianCinemaRasigan'.

Username

edit

This page will help you change your username. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:10, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Now that your request – of having a new username – is fulfilled, please remember two things: use only one account, to avoid being blocked per WP:SOCK, and sign all your posts by typing ~~~~ at the end of every post. But you're already a great and honest editor, so happy editing. PS: One day I am sure you'll bring an article to GA status. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:23, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

The sign should only be on Talk pages right? Should I sign edit summaries? IndianCinemaRasigan 11:25, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Yes, talk pages only, not edit summaries. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:33, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Bajrangi Bhaijaan

edit

I wanted to notify that your edit to Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been reverted. In your edit, you did not explain why you were removing "Urdu" form the infobox. Please make use of edit summary in future. I reverted your edit because as the film purports to have been shot in Pakistan, Hindi is not spoken in Pakistan, and so, the language in Pakistan is only Urdu. Production of Baahubali page move

edit

Hi there, you should have opened a discussion and sought consensus before moving Production of Baahubali to Baahubali (film series). Your rationale was The article contains details beyond just production, but if the issue is with the content, the content should be refined to fit the scope of the article, not the other way around. Either way, discussion should have taken place first to allow other interested editors to weigh in. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:46, 8 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Kirumi (film)

edit

The article Kirumi (film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG with no detailed secondary sources, just some promo images and an entry in a website database.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Production of Baahubali. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 21:58, 9 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

WP:UGC

edit

Hi there, per WP:UGC we do not use blogs as references as you did here by supporting content with statements made at filmimovies.com. Anyone with an internet connection can create a blog and proclaim themselves an expert on any subject. There is a world of difference between any-old-source and a reliable published source with an established reputation for fact-checking. I have reverted the changes. Thanks. Range of opinion

edit

Hi there, regarding this edit at Kabali (film) where you remove a sourced budget and replace it with another sourced budget, if there is a difference of opinion over budget, wouldn't it be academically responsible to present the range of budget estimates rather than picking the number that closest matches your point of view and settling on that? It would seem to me that 70–160 crore[1][2] would be the intuitive way to present this information, at least until NDTV changes their figures. I'll be changing the content to fit this range. Also, I'm unclear on why you're using studioflicks.com as a reference, as I've previously brought to your attention that we do not use blogs as references. If there's a compelling reason, I'm all ears, but until then I'll be removing the blog. Feel free to reply below. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:42, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Controversial changes

edit

Hi there, if you intend to make a controversial changes like removing a piece of sourced budget data from an article, as you did at Kabali (film) then you need to open a discussion on the article's talk page to invite discussion. Making a unilateral decision then trying to enforce that decision through silent reverts [3] is just going to make you look like a disruptive editor with an agenda. Even smarter is opening a discussion first, then achieving consensus before the content is removed. I'll point out that the only source you provided of a contrary budget value came from Filmibeat, which I don't believe is generally considered reliable by the WP:ICTF. This even further necessitates the need for discussion rather than reversions and unilateral declarations. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:10, 16 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
