After the death of Kottayam thamburan, kathakali vanished from Kottayam malabar. Kunhambu gurikkal introduced kathakali in this area after a long in travel. He was belong to thiyya community. Thiyya community( treated as untouchable group ) was one among the back word class community among the other hindu community. Unteachable was not effected for artists and performers in those years. Kunhiambu gurikkals life history is an example. Recording the local history was not done in those days. Few history about rulers are recorded. Manakkadan Kunhambu gurikkal was a kathakali performer. I may not get too much evidences or references about him. I got many incidents about him from my ancestors. but it was not recorded in my contribution as I have no proof about it. Kunhambu gurikkal's life history is in a Malayalam book named Kathakalirangam which was published in 1956. Please refer Kathakalirangam in Page no 130 and connected article in page nos.123,129,131 and 450. I am ready to send the book if needed. I have Land registered documents about Kunhambu gurikkal for transferring lands during the period 1917 and his son in the later period. He was a real man, not trying to keep his history for the next generation.
