Sorry if the messages that you got weren't helpful enough — this wasn't deleted under an assumption that it wasn't true. Rather, it was deleted because you didn't show that the band was important or why it deserved to be covered by an encyclopedia. As long as you can explain why the band is important, you're free to recreate it from scratch.
