Image copyright problem with Image:Baltimore_pimlico2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Baltimore_pimlico2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

New World Destinations edit

I found this site on line

It had a really good table about the entry and exit of Africans during the slave trade. I usually don't bother with net stuff, but the tables are pulled from reputable publishers. I've already used one of the tables to update some of my previus data on African exit points (different coast: senegambia, bight of benin, etc.) Would you mind incorporating the data from its destination points into your section on New World Destinations. I like your graph. I would've made the change myself, but didn't want to step on any toes. hit me back when u can. PEACE :) Scott Free 23:04, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

No big on the misunderstanding. Hall's numbers should never have been there cuz they only account for North America. I overlooked that before putting it there. My bad. Lovejoy's take into account all of the Americas. I think his numbers would be more appropriate for the overall article. I might take Hall's work to the African-American article where it is more relevant. Thnx for letting me use the table. I'll get right to work on it. And thnx again for keeping me honest. vmi articles edit

Malc, my comment was intended as sarcasm. If you look at the contributions of Koonoonga, you would see he has been involved in a number of edit wars regarding information/wording of VMI stuff. Always, when pointed to wiki policies, he gets defensive, and sometimes, offensive, complaining that changes that reduce what other editors call peacock terms is due to jealousy and harrassment by "weaker" military colleges. He, and at least other editor have been flagrant about their disregard for wiki policies, if adherence to those policies makes VMI look less important than they (VMI grads) want to make it look.--Vidkun 15:40, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chipping Norton Stakes edit

The Chipping Norton is normally run at Warwick Farm in Sydney. It would be rare, if ever, for a Sydney race to be run in Melbourne. I can't recall this happening, however you might want to check with Super Impose who has provided most of the race histories on Australian races. - Cuddy Wifter 02:22, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I beg you to reconsider your nomination of the esteemed Canterbury University of the Seychelles. I have revised the article, with references, to a more balanced description; and argue that it is notable (referred to in a UK broadsheet newspaper article, and a US educational website) and potentially useful, given wikipedia's prominence on google when researching subjects such as CUotS. The article is now on my watch-list. --Tagishsimon (talk)

Whois edit

Whois is a program that repots to whom an IP address belongs. The Wikipedia article, that is under the link, explains much more detail. But it is a useful tool for discovering somthing about who is editing the pages when instead of creating an account they use an IP address. All I have done is put the output of the whois program onto the talk page of an IP address so that someone can see to whom it belongs. As this information is applicable to all users of that IP address I think it should be at the top of the talk page. I did this because of the history of recent edits from User:89.102.140.194 address which is far more than a causual passing editor would normally do. --Philip Baird Shearer 21:04, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

WikiDragon295 edit

Hi Malk82,

Looks like we both stuck our noses into that at around the same time; I type slow. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but the comment you left on WikiDragon's talk page was essentially taunting him. I share your lack of enthusiasm for organized religion, but that comment doesn't do anybody any good. At best, he ignores it. At worse, he feels persecuted and starts acting accordingly. Just my 2 cents. --barneca (talk) 22:45, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes I know it was a bit over the line, on the other hand the edit summary was a smiley (and since my edit will show up anyway, I'll just go add the smiley to the statement itself). Thanks for metioning it. Malc82 22:50, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, "a bit over" is right. Not a big deal, and I almost didn't say anything because I didn't want to make a mountain out of a molehill. Nikro edit

My brother deleted the reason from his page, he told me about deleting it.
  • 1)First of all, I asked him if I can edit his page, he said "Go ahead." Then I asked him if he wanted the word "Yes" to be changed to "Neutral" or "Lost", he said "Which ever one".
  • 2)I was changing a lie he made about my work on wikiipedia.
  • 3)He tells to go ahead and edit it, then he deletes the reason for the changes on his talkpage, then he writes me up for vandelism, it looks like he set me up to get me banned, which he's known to do that. I say he should be banned for setting someone up for suspencen.
  • 4)If it was vandelism, Wikipedia would have noted it as vandelism, but they didn't.
  • 5)If he says "Go ahead", then he give me permission, thus it can't be vandelism, but what he's doing is vandelism to my charactor.

Trust me, he knewn about the reason on his talkpage, and he deleted it, and he told me. And I had permission from him to edit his page.Proove of my reason on hi's talkpage

US/Cdn team list duplication edit

Hi. Mr.wang (including his previous account Gordomono) has duplicated List of U.S. and Canadian cities by number of major professional sports franchises at least twice because he can't get consensus to add the leagues he wants to it. The leagues he wants to add were there for a while and made that page a nasty mess; I did a complete rewrite about 3 months ago with a WP:BRD that stuck and have been watching it pretty hard since. Some other users were able to make a decent case for partial inclusion of the CFL and MLS, and so they got in; he doesn't like the guidelines as discussed, though, so he keeps forking the data, and I keep flipping his new pages to redirects as I find them. I've left two messages now asking him to stop this with no response. If you're willing to help me watch him, I'd appreciate it. VT hawkeyetalk to me 03:19, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Frolunda logo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Frolunda logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:37, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dresden edit

Was nachweislich nicht funktionierte.

besten Gruss

New deal for page patrollers edit

Hi Malc82,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
