Fire Songs edit

Hi! I wanted to congratulate you on the new article! This is definitely a notable collection, so I'm glad that you added it! I do have some notes, however:

  • I removed the bit of poetry from the page, as I'm not sure if this would pose an issue with copyright. This was also accompanied by a sentence that could be seen as a personal interpretation or opinion because of the use of the word "horrific". I doubt that many would disagree but it's still considered to be a personal opinion. If it was taken from something we just need to attribute it, though. I'll leave the ultimate decision on this to your instructor Dr Aaij, as I may just be a little too strict on quotes. Since I figure that you pulled the quote from the book itself, your instructor can review the quote in context and see if it's too large to add or would be OK.
  • I did remove this source as it's a WordPress blog. Blogs are discouraged as sources because we can't guarantee the quality and accuracy of the blog, as most don't undergo the type of editorial oversight that Wikipedia requires. In order to use them we have to be able to show where they're routinely seen as a reliable source by other reliable sources, especially academic and scholarly sources.
  • This needs more of a reception section. I've started one for you and added a review by the Guardian. There are some other reviews out there like this, this, this, and this. I would
  • You may also want to add a development section if there is enough sourcing. I did find this, where the author discusses his creative writing process.

This could also use a cover image, but I'll go ahead and add that since it has to be uploaded a certain way. I hope that these notes will help! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:37, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi Shalor (Wiki Ed)--thank you so much. I think the four quoted lines fall within fair use of non-free material; yes, "horrific" was too not-neutral. Makaveli, you've just been handed a couple of gifts, in article space and in the links here: don't let them go to waste. You have a great opportunity here to definitively outdo Watsherm, haha. And don't tell me you don't have access to the Times Literary Supplement: you do, through our library. Go get it! Dr Aaij (talk) 16:38, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks Dr Aaij! I thought I may have been a bit too cautious here - Makaveli, definitely feel free to re-add the quoted lines! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:47, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for July 25 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Prattville Gin Factory, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Civil War (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
