What?

edit

Please explain what purpose this edit served and why you felt it necessary to link from total active reflection coefficient to TARC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:49, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • The technical term TARC is used for MIMO application and is a good measure of the antenna system performance. We have introduced it in 2003 as Total Active Reflection Coefficient (TARC) and people know it as TARC. That was the main reason to link this page to TARC. I didn't see that you have already added it as "Total active reflection coefficient".

You have not answered my question: what earthly purpose is served by writing TARC, ie. creating a link to the disambiguation page. Do you really think that people reading the article need to know that TARC has other meanings? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:08, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't hurt to know that TARC is not the exclusive abbreviation for Total Active Reflection Coefficient.

Assistant professors

edit

Hi, I'm responding to your comments on my talk page. The most important criterion for Wikipedia is notability. It's not enough for someone to "exist", he or she has to be notable in the field. This means that the person should be talked about or quoted in reliable sources such as respected newspapers and online news sources, or be listed in awards sites. You did a good job of referencing Manteghi's papers, but the only real source that describes his work is his resume at Virginia Tech. Those other assistant professors probably have more reliable sources than that.

You don't have to worry about deleting the page; when the AFD discussion is complete, an administrator will delete it. Best, Yoninah (talk) 19:58, 30 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Total active reflection coefficient

edit

Hi again. I don't know if you are Magid Manteghi himself, but you should know that Wikipedia is not a manual, guidebook, textbook, or scientific journal. This particular article assumes scientific knowledge on the part of the reader, and primarily presents the point of view of Professor Manteghi's research, both of which are not in keeping with Wikipedia policy. When you write a Wikipedia article, it should introduce the subject in easy language and develop each point using a variety of references from different sources. If TARC is a new finding, then you must wait until it is accepted by the broader community, and then source it. I'm afraid that the article as it stands now is another candidate for articles for deletion. Yoninah (talk) 08:22, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reconfigurable intelligent surface moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Reconfigurable intelligent surface, is not suitable as written to remain published. While it appears to be notable, it needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. There are large sections which are wholly uncited. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. I did this rather than removing the uncited material in the article, which I felt would be more disruptive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask on my talk page. When you have the required sourcing (and every assertion needs a source), and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Or feel free to ping me to take another look.Onel5969 TT me 11:55, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
