James Beard Foundation edit

Hi, Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed your edits on the James Beard Foundation article were copied directly from the James Beard Website. I reverted those edits since they are in copyright violation per WP:COPYPASTE. It also appears you work for the organization which is a conflict of interest and strongly discouraged. Let me know if you have any questions. 9H48F (talk) 02:41, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, apologies for those mistakes. As you noted, I do work for the organization, and was tasked with updating our Wikipedia page, but understand why that is discouraged. There are a number of outdated or now-incorrect pieces of information on the page, however. Is there any way to get those updated while maintaining best practices in Wikipedia? @MaggScho, I'll take a look today or tomorrow at the article to update based on your edits. 9H48F (talk) 14:12, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
@9H48F, much appreciated, thank you! MaggScho (talk) 14:13, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
@MaggScho, I updated the James Beard Foundation article using sources you had previously added and some new ones. Most everything is cited and marketing copy is removed, so I also removed the notices at the top (although there are a few inline citations still needed). It looks like there had been some conflicts of interest and copypaste in the past as well, so would recommend in the future when info needs to be updated to add to the WikiProject Food and drink improvement request list to let other editors make the edits and avoid these conflicts. 9H48F (talk) 16:46, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
