Space elevator

edit

Hi David,

Have a little question for you. In the article Space elevator under the heading "Materials" there is the following sentence: With Space Elevators like this, Humans can send materials into orbit at a fraction of the current cost (from around $30000 today to $3 per kg, a factor of 104!).

You added the numbers. Could you tell me from what source you have the figure $30,000? I guessed you had the $3 per kg with a space elevator from the webpage of NASA which was the only webpage in the article when you added those numbers. But when I went to this webpage http://flightprojects.msfc.nasa.gov/fd02_elev.html I couldn't find the number $3 per kg. In the pdf on that webpage I found "<$10/kg" and also a cost only based on the energy consumption of this type of space elevator "$1.48/kg".

Could you please tell me the sources where you got those numbers from? If there's no year with them telling in what year the estimate was made in a few years they won't be very useful anymore because of inflation. Moreover conventional ways of launching to geosynchrous orbit could become much cheaper as well.

Thanks a lot in advance, Laudaka 04:26, 15 Feb 2004 (UTC) (Paul/laudaka)

Hi Laudaka,

Thanks for asking. I'll put the answer to your talk page. --David Andel 23:52, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Amisulpride rec.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Amisulpride rec.gif. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:05, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Typical Neuroleptics rec.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Hetar 20:05, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
